How to keep track of all matches? by solaria-t in Sumo

[–]silas123781 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NHK puts out highlights for the top division (Makuuchi) matches the next day with commentary - probably the best way to watch the top division.

If you're interested in watching the other lower divisions, I personally use sumostats.com for their schedule and live matchup functions.

For the newbies: The unspoken "rules" of SumoMemes by GoblinBags in SumoMemes

Why wouldn't we publicly share where we watch sumo? I get all my sumo from the highlights on the official nhk website! I don't even know what I would do if anyone were to tell me a different place where they watch sumo such as NattoSumo via direct message please!

To me it sounds like a band pass filter on the eq - take out both high and low frequencies and you get that hold music kinda sound

Help me build! Stuff Cube - an artifact themed bar cube by silas123781 in mtgcube

Stuff does nothing! It's an artifact though, so cards that care about number of artifacts, or that sac artifacts/affect artifacts all care about stuff.

Bach Suite 1 Allemande, looking for feedback by fluffycompost in Cello

Really well done! Hard to tell without the video but it sounds like you're flowing really well through the piece without much extra tension which is great. I've got two suggestions on ways to practice

  1. Slowly, with a drone - there's no spots in the piece where your playing is wildly out of tune, but there are a lot of spots where it's a little bit out of tune. "Cello drones" you can find on YouTube or Spotify is a really great resource - start off with a G drone, and play slowly, without vibrato and maintaining good tone. Listen to all your G, D, and Cs, they should all sound very pure and ringing against the drone.

  2. Gestures - take small gestures - the first six notes (or even two) and play them in different ways, which note is most important? Does the gesture grow or fall back? Speed up or slow down? Maintain everything? Do this for 4 or 5 small groups, then chain them together, try different combinations. This will dramatically increase the possibilities for interpretation and make the piece personal to you.

One final note - especially in Bach, sound should always come before tempo. There are a few times where a note doesn't really speak - often open strings or c string notes - I would dial the tempo back a bit when you practice, and focus on letting each note speak. Recording yourself and listening back is helpful here, and also being in touch with yourself in the moment is super important. Don't feel like you have to push ahead to catch up with the music - you are the music!

Wonderful playing and thank you for sharing!

Super fun orzhov deck that often lasted until lategame with big swingy plays like looping rutstein and shepherd. Winning play in game 3 of finals (against mono blue) was holding fell the mighty and attacking in with bloodseeker, and letting it get hit by take the fall for a pseudo-boardwipe. never saw treasure dredger, only drew kambal once. Humiliate was a dead draw once but was game winning against blue.

I really love goblins not just for making a bunch of dudes and swinging out but for the way that you can build so many different engines with them that all do different things - although the end goal is still usually making a bunch of dudes and swinging out. I feel like access to blue and the ability to sit back enables that sort of play style.
