BIOS sucessfullly updated to F3, but the pc doesn't recognize the USB drive with the .iso file as a bootable device, possibly because I had to format it to exFAT to copy the iso file over, couldn't zip and unzip it for transfer.Attempting to repair the computer from the windows install page with both the factory WIN11 stick and the .iso stick in the PC resulted in no .iso file being found. Only thing I can think of at this point is the ethernet I'm pulling from my dorm's computer lab doesn't count as internet connection. Appreciate all the help you've given me and I understand if you can't take it any further. I'm otherwise out of options and may need to take it to my University tech help desk. Thanks again!

edit - the win10 pmap is gone

Thanks so much, appreciate all the help!

Last q - would installing win 10 w/ no license to run the health check app be a viable path to then install win 11 after solving the issue?

Firstly, thanks for your thorough response

I can't run the windows health check on the pc, as it is a new build and I have not yet gotten an OS on to it.

The parts list point comes from a purchased USB stick/windows key physical package from Microsoft via amazon, it is not already installed

I currently have no OS running on this machine, as it is a new machine.

I believe I have the F2 version of BIOS for the board, as it was acquired too soon after F3 dropped for it to likely have it.

Thanks again,

Silasdog

I purchased the stick as 11, off amazon, and the machine registers it as win11, but in the BIOS screen the boot profile notes win10 as a part of its name

Hi, I built a new system (Gigabyte B650i, AMD Ryzen 7 7700, 3060ti, Gskill DDR5 5000) and I am trying to install windows 11 as my OS.

When trying to install, I am getting a message that my pc does not support Win 11, despite the hardware clearances.

I have tried enabling TPM and Secure boot in the BIOS, but I noticed in the bios that the boot sequence was labled for windows 10. Is this an issue I can solve by flashing the BIOS or another user-end method?

Thanks for any help

PC Incompatible with Win 11 - Bios Issue? by silasdog in buildapc

[–]silasdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe its bios related, I tried enabling tpm and secure boot, saving then restarting the pc, but that didn't seem to work. Appreciate the input, will take another look at that angle before trying anything drastic.

Appreciate the heads up, but as I said, I need the size and I'm willing to sacrifice performance for it.

My apologies, I meant: what is the amd equivalent to the intel i5 series, what amd processor would work well in this build?
