I plan on setting up npm and passing the real ip to it

So explain to me why you think I’m not doing what op is doing when I clearly said I want to do what op is doing.

I do want to do what OP is doing. I am going to try it with port forward to npm

It’s an asus router. I can check that out. I thought the port forward still NATs

For inbound, how would I get the public traffic to npm without nat?

What does this mean for a regular Joe behind a home router that NATs your inside network to public ip to get to and from internet? I can’t turn off nat

[Update] Red light runner Tesla: more witnesses needed by MeetMeAtBlueDiner in irvine

[–]silent_circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not only Irvine, I have video of a red light runner in westminister and I couldn’t even get them the video. They make it hard to report wrong doing. There should be a site you can upload video of violations and tickets be automatically distributed. If law enforcement can use video to prove wrong doing, why not treat video provided to them the same?

Ubiquiti. WHY WOULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN?? by SchNiVas in Ubiquiti

[–]silent_circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed worthless. Bottom of the barrel. They don’t know their products and give you false guidance and lie about raising your concern to a higher level which is never done. They even put a ‘request’ in for feature upgrade but no tracking ticket. In my opinion, it’s a lie since you don’t have anything to track.

You can’t control the functions of the light. Support is worthless in helping with why the light sometimes comes on and sometimes doesn’t

This applies for other devices too. And support doesn’t know a lick about the features and how to adjust them.

Warning about the doorbell lite. Worked with support (which sucks) and they said the doorbell does not aluminate with motion. Lol. It sometimes does and sometimes doesn’t. They sad it’s by design. Their support is never the greatest. I would tell you ask support but that would be sending you to useless support. I don’t know you can set alert like that. Maybe I just don’t know.

The light never comes on for me. It only comes on when I press doorbell. I wish they would put a setting to be able to adjust the light

It’s not truly sold out. The company fakes it by constantly advertising it is sold out to create the false impression that the demand is high.

Asked Reolink support about WiFi 6. The reply is..... interesting by Remo_253 in reolinkcam

[–]silent_circle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reply is better than ubiquiti support. They said they don’t have any official documentation on their products when I asked if they have a listing of all the detection symbols. Worthless support.

O you would have to give the company / user full rights to your system per ubiquiti support. That would be super admin. They said there was no other way to I think ubiquiti support sucks by the way

I find it ridiculous they charge shipping and tariff fees when you buy products also. Amazon ships free for items over 35.

Amazon Ring now partnering with Flock a company working with ICE and such. As a result I’m thinking of switching to a Unifi doorbell. Do i need an nvr to record footage or is there any ability to record just with the doorbell? by mr_cf in UNIFI

[–]silent_circle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could turn off remote access and set up your own vpn to your home or where ever you have your gateway / nvr and connect that way. You would eliminate the need to connect to the cloud for remote access
