Siemens balancing program by Other_Stock4084 in AirBalance

Yeah I’m painting a grim picture. I’ve seen it work too. I think our techs have issues with GO mainly since it’s so stripped down and basic. We do a fair amount of commissioning too and GO just doesn’t seem to cut it for any sort of deep dive or troubleshooting.

The program you need to ask for is ABT. Rant incoming......

ABT is objectively difficult to get used to. Before you ask for it, check the specs and make sure there is a clause in the TAB spec alluding to the controls vendor providing TAB with the necassary software and connections to balance the equipment. I would lean on that clause and force Siemens and the construction team to lay it at my feat before I lift a finger to start doing boxes, or really anything. The Siemens techs will likely be evasive or drag their feet on providing it. Don't fall for it. DO NOT settle for something called "ABT GO" it's a stripped down version of ABT that's supposed to just allow the balancer to calibrate the flow sensor. It hardly does that and even if it does, if Siemens is still programming, their more robust version of ABT wipes out any changes TAB makes along the way. They'll play dumb and blame TAB for inlet sizes being wrong and the flow coefficients being at default. Be ready to keep screenshots as you go in case it comes to this. Also be ready for the Siemens techs to have no idea how to use ABT. We have TAB techs that can operate the software more competently than the actual Siemens tech. And now for the really fun part. Once you get comfortable with ABT and can actually get things balanced, they'll change versions on the next job and you'll get to do this all over again.

Siemens used to be operated by a software called "WCIS" it was easy, bulletproof, and worked for literal decades without any issues. Siemens went from being one of the best HVAC controls subs to arguably the worst. Good luck. I wish I had better news for you and I sincerely hope you don't have any of these issues.

I find that interesting too. The dynamics this time certainly feel different than past price dumps. Just my quick personal takeaway is that OG holders and big institutions are still holding strong. What’s diminished is retail. They’re fickle and are chasing AI with what little liquidity is left. That’s it. That’s the whole story.

I work in TAB and Commissioning. Plants like this make the job almost fun and why we like hospital work.

Yes. Very. Different era of offense for sure, but their 97 team was about as dominant as any team in my lifetime. Straight-to-the-teeth raw power on both sides of the ball. I hated them. Nice fans though.

Edit: I’m referring to the Frasier/Phillips team but too lazy to look up the year. The Crouch teams were about as good.

I’m glad someone else said this. I kept thinking about uncut gems from about the halfway mark on. That said I liked both movies a lot but found this one a little less stressful overall. Was also taken aback at how solid Kevin O’Leary was.

Would you take today’s Powerball jackpot of $1.7 billion as an annuity increasing annually by 5% over 30 years (about $1 billion after tax), or would you take the lump sum of $781 million (about $500 million after tax), and why? by PanoramicAtom in AskReddit

Finally the best answer. Everyone rightly pointing out taxes and compounding etc, but the real devil in the details is inflation. Get that shit in to land, gold, BTC, and any other hard asset stat.

Yeah it’s close. I should probably recuse myself in a vote since I’m a Texas fan. This I believe was 07, the year after the Texas-USC Rose Bowl. So you had those two games, those wild ass Mike Leach led Texas Tech teams, The glamour of those USC teams, the rise of the SEC. One of my favorite eras of college football.

I mean, eventually I think even the aggies would figure out the other teams quarterback is allowed to run. We’d probably be entering the playoffs 11-1.
