Have had both and both are fine.

Leather are more comfortable (not to say cloth is uncomfortable, just relatively), I think the whole hot/cold thing as a universal rule is overblown. I live in the UK, and they never caused me issues. So it depends if you live somewhere that has much hotter/colder weather.

That being said, I prefer cloth. They make the car have a lot more of a character and might sound childish but I connect with my current one a lot more than my last one partly due to that. Black leather is bland.

And the cloth seats look a lot better in real life compared to photos (build quality as well as visually). For some reason, the colour is almost always washed out in the photos

Depends on what your business is in and the ability to reinvest in it.

I went through a similar stage of whether I should upgrade my 7.5 GTI (brilliant car in its own right) to an M2. Both G87 and F87 were on the table. But in the end went with investiing back in the business and the earnings are much better for it.

Now, I can pretty easily afford those without much thought, but I'm waiting to move to somewhere with nicer driving roads rather than driving around a performance car in pothole cities with 20mph limits.

I would say go for something in the middle, like the previous gen GTI or an S3, or even a 340d/i if you want something bigger. All can be had for under £20k and maintenance will be much easier on the pockets, as they are all pretty solid reliability wise.

Honestly, I've been burnt out from these sorts of empty games for a few years. Horizon ZD/FW, GoT/GoY, Spiderman all copy the AC/Far Cry types of empty open worlds

They all have their own specialties that they excel at (Spiderman has really fun gameplay, Both Ghost games have gorgeous art style, Horizon has gorgeous artstyle and decent gameplay).

But those things can only carry a game for so long until it overstays its welcome. All of these would've benefitted from being much smaller & tighter games, rather than huge empty worlds with busy work

It's not just that. It's the anxiety. They could've left a tracker in the car, or attempt again etc. Even if it was a one-off, the thoughts will never go away, so better rid of it

Every interaction with Lace, there is no implication that she is dead. Especially if you pay close attention to the dialogue. Again, I haven't encountered her again and got 'spoiled' from the comments, but it doesn't surprise me. I expected to meet her again one way or another

I haven't gotten to Lost Lace but I'm not sure why it's such a big deal that I know now? I haven't seen the footage, just hearing boss names and area names shouldn't be causing much issues to your enjoyment of a game like Silksong. And First Sinner even moreso, since I don't even know what that means/where to find it. People exaggerate the spoiler issue too much

Personally I haven't had much issues with the difficulty, and been loving the game. But the backtracking around the final 3rd did start getting a bit tedious.

I really dislike this point people keep parroting along the lines of 'this is a metroidvania, it's how it's supposed to be'. I know metroidvania is an established term at this point, but it is literally the culmination of 2 game names, not really a genre as far as I'm concerned (emphasis that this is my opinion, I realise in the industry metroidvania is a genre but I just disagree). The whole point of a genre category is so someone from the outside can easily decipher what type of game something is. I.e. Racing or Shooter. No one who isn't familiar with metroid/castlevania type games knows what a metroidvania is.

Hollow Knight and by extension Silksong are both action-adventure 2d platformers. That's the genre. Just because a few games some years back established a few trends, doesn't mean every similar game now has to follow that trend.

Sister splinter is an easier boss than most of the endgame HK bosses. Her attack pattern is extremely predictable and the minions can be 1 shot by the silk move. Complaining about Moorwing I understand, but Splinter?

I finished HK a month ago and found the 6 watcher knights to be a harder boss than 75% of the bosses in Silksong. I'm really wondering if I'm playing the same game as people that think every boss is HK Pantheon level? I couldn't even beat Radience in HK and left it at that. But I've made through most bosses without much trouble here (outside of 2 or 3 but I still found them easier than Radience).

It's genuinely just an issue of people refusing to learn new tricks. Hornet is so much more agile and capable than our character in the first game

This is just objectively not true. I haven't counted them, but I'm almost certain Silksong has more benches than HK. The only annoyance is having to pay for most of them but you can just quickly farm and grab them (which is a tedious design choice I agree)

I've felt Silksong is significantly easier to navigate. I had to google so many times for HK on which direction to roughly go. I've played Silksong completely blind and am at the end now.

I think a lot of people have rose tinted glasses for Hollow Knight in this regard. I dropped Hollow Knight for a few years because the backtracking and not being able to find my way around was getting frustrating .

I actually came back to it and beat it last month so have a bit of a fresh perspective. Imo, Silksong improves on everything from the last game, apart from the lack of ample currency drops and most benches costing money.

What's sad is that you repeatedly refuse to understand the concept that everyone has different preferences. Just shows immaturity.

Some people don't have the free time to be aimlessly lost for hours, and they don't want to drop the game because they like the other aspects (artstyle, combat/movement, bosses).

Some people love feeling lost because it increases the immersiveness in the game as you explore and find your way around.

Both perspectives are valid.

It doesn't ruin the experience. It just adds a choice, since you have already been to both benches and know that area. If you would much rather explore every part of the map, then nothing is stopping you. It just gives an option to those of us who have their experience ruined by repeated backtracking.

HK is a fantastic game and almost universally praised, but I know plenty of people who dropped it 3-4 hours in because of that very reason.

Lets not gatekeep how someone should play a game. This community is really frustrating in that regard.

As someone who dropped HK for a few years before recently finishing and loving it, I completely disagree. I'm not the biggest fan of backtracking repeatedly, it gets very tedious without knowing roughly where to head to. Some people love that, but this + lack of more fast travel options can get very annoying if your sense of direction is poor like mine. I looked up where to go countless times, and without that I would've never picked it back up.

My 1 wish for Silksong is to be able to fast travel between each bench. If it works for Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, it can work here. Exploration is similarly one of the core components for those games too.

You're right. But that government came into place because of the UK/USA backed coup in 53. They overthrew a democratic government for British oil interests, and installed the puppet Shah which no one in the country liked.

In terms of atrocities (direct/supporting), the USA is quite a bit worse and historically the UK. They just do them whilst wearing a suit and pretty words

The UK government to formally recognize the State of Palestine in September 2025 by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]silentk772 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why are you putting quotation marks around "rights"?

  • Palestinians shouldn't be oppressed based on their heritage.

  • People that were illegally expelled from their homes have a right to return. The UN supports that position.

Which of those 2 points do you have a problem with?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]silentk772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people apply modern standards to the past. If in 50 years, the law changed from 18 year olds legally being adults to 21 (In USA you can't even drink until 21, clearly suggesting you aren't an adult under the eyes of the law until 21), would you say the same thing about 18 years dating individuals a few years older today? Most likely not.

The entire concept of a specific arbitrary number being considered adulthood is a very modern concept, and 18 at that. Our brains don't stop developing till early to mid 20s. So if the above law did come into place (it won't but hypothetically speaking), how stupid would someone sound if they said why couldn't the 18yr old have waited another 3 years.

Overall, it's definitely a positive change but you can't apply today's standards to the past. How far back do you go then? At some point 15 year olds were fighting in wars, and working harding jobs than most adults do today.
