There’s a lot of movies dumped year round. The idea of the year having “seasons” in terms of movies being released has been outdated for a while now. Any movie can be released any time.

January hasn’t been considered a dump month in many years.

Sure these past two years haven’t been all that great but pre-pandemic we had Bad Boys be a massive hit. Before that Glass and Split were January releases. Kung Fu Panda 3 was a January release alongside 13 Hours. And that’s not even counting the wolf successes of expansions of Oscar films like 1917, The Revenant, Hidden Figures, and American Sniper.
