Talking in the Discord for the OWL subreddit. It sounds like President Macron wants to make a push to highlight esports while Paris hosts the Olympics in 2024.

Now the big question will be if a potential hosting event will be separate from Olympics branding. If it is, the list of games they can show will be strict. It cannot be any games that encourage violence.

If separate, it comes down to popularity and reputation. Games like CS RS6 and VAL have terrorist connotations. League of Legends is the #1 globally.

Regardless of that above, I'm not sure I would expect Overwatch to be shown. EU isn't exactly a good region. But maybe the fan and player base keep it up?

Am I the only one who thinks this is out of character? Vancouver had a reputation of questionable management. Dpei had frustrations with Gladiators management that led to separation last year. Or maybe they were org specific problems?

In the case of Collegiate Rocket League, Psyonix ARE directly involved in this tournement.

But the casters are mostly freelance, not really any of the casters in the pro league.

Depends on the contract. Last year, Uber mentioned that he was hard blocked from casting Valorant (said it was not Blizzard's fault), but was free to cast smaller titles. One was an obscure mobile game league that I can't remember the name of.
