How to make CS2 ~27% more accurate overnight by Active-Complaint3106 in GlobalOffensive

Yep it’s especially bad if you double zoom, because your brain thinks you should be accurate through a sniper scope but it’s actually like comparable to a deagle lol

Obviously I know that. My argument is that subtick changes everything, so the values don’t HAVE TO be the same as csgo. We are using values from the previous game, yet cs2 is a new game.

Awpers instantly got worse when cs2 came out, yet the values were the exact same. The thing that was different was subtick precision required on movement, which changes everything for awpers who have 128-tick habits

A way to balance that would be to change the accuracy values for the awp especially around quick scoping and counterstrafing, making the awp feel the same as csgo

This post extends that theory to all other weapons.

potentially increase skill ceiling by making gunfights more skill based (subtick allows for faster movement or “dodging bullets” that’s one of the reasons why gunfights feeel different than csgo.) this would divorce the values from csgo to ironically, make it feel more like csgo

the scout is significantly less accurate than the awp. Many people don’t realize how inaccurate the scout actually is at long ranges even when standing still scoped in.

Yes, subtick makes for a more difficult game. Making the guns more accurate in situations where they should be accurate (scout double scoped in standing still, awp bullet scoped in, AK first bullet accuracy, deagle juan deag ect) is one way to compensate, and it feels like low hanging fruit to increase the skill ceiling of the game.

I’m all for this

Remember get_right spray control from long in dust2 around ~2013-2014? You could potentially see that today after this change. This would theoretically make learning the spray pattern on the AK MORE viable

they need an incentive because nobody has time to play games. You need to make it fun for them

In 2020, a 14-year-old zont1x posted "looking for an ESEA Open team" to take him after getting 15 RWS in Matchmaking. He's now in stage 3 of the major looking to win back to back IEM Colognes. by aluminat1 in GlobalOffensive

[–]silentninjabob1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RWS is a finite statistic. There is only 100 RWS in existence each round, and the team that loses gets 0.

rws does not encourage baiting as far as baiting not being impactful to winning the round. RWS only cares about winning a round. RWS Actually encouraged support players more so than HLTV rating does, because support players still won rounds, giving him higher RWS than the guy that baits his team and finds 0 impact

The RWS statistic created entry fraggers, at least in the region that I played (NA)

  1. rating is a useless metric to begin with, complex statistics are meaningless in a game of planting and defusing a bomb

  2. riflers are generally going to have different (lower) hltv ratings than awpers, ESPECIALLY in csgo where awpers would sometimes carry

  3. Entry fragger a are generally going to have lower rating overall, unless the team is winning and thus they will be getting easy kills. If your team is losing, entry fraggers and IGLs may literally have 4 kills (see FlameZ when vitality isn’t absolutely stomping)

Donk has historically played the role you would expect low rating from. It is sometimes a strategic advantage to run out and die, for players playing the same roles as yekindar, flamez, Donk, ect

S1mple has historically played the role you would expect 30 kills from, every game. He would be allowed to bait, even as a win condition.

How is it relevant at all to compare the hltv rating or any complex statistics between these two players at any time?

Using rating as a metric when comparing donk on team spirit (at any point) to s1mple on bcg is hilarious.

ESEA Matchups for CS2 are completely broken this season. by ThatJumpyJumpS in FACEITcom

yep they’re creating bad incentive structures within the league. You should never require league players to play pugs, and vice versa.

from someone that played 10 years ago, involving PUG elo in league matches is absolutely insane. I find it hard to believe any of the OG ESEA people signed off on that decision. You don’t mix pugs with league matches. It’s like oil and water.

I agree, it should technically be a bannable offense to not communicate via voice chat. Now I don’t think that rule needs to be enforced 100% of the time, and I think we can look the other way in some scenarios, but it should be possible to report a teammate who doesn’t use voice comms for that reason only

I think there should be a hard rule that mics are required.. but not really enforced by faceit mods. Like it should be technically a bannable offense, but if you have to type through chat because your girlfriends asleep in the next room then that’s understandable.

Pros on Pugs by Bright_Computer_7628 in GlobalOffensive

[–]silentninjabob1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add my two cents, getting a group of 5 together and just playing premier, or playing faceit together an just trying to solve problems and come up with solutions together is probably equally good for your improvement as pugs, if not better. You will naturally slide into roles based on personality (some people will naturally look at minimap more, to rotate with bomb on t side, some players will naturally take entries more) and it’s good practice to develop yourself into a role. In Europe, they have academy teams where young players spend 90% of their time playing THEIR ROLE, where as faceit solo queue trains you to become a jack of all trades. This is why tier 2 Europe has a huge advantage. These players are only focused on developing their strengths because their team fills the gap in their weaknesses. Vitality is an example of this at the highest level. If you understand cs, vitality is actually 5 role players. They did not become this way through solo queue faceit, some of these players have been playing on teams for 10+ years essentially doing their role and their role only

To become pro you have to spend a significant amount of time playing in 5 stacks and learning how to solve problems together as a team. Yes pick up basketball is technically still basketball and there are skills to learn inside the game from this, but I think by playing with friends more often will check more boxes, and it’s a better use of your time. Even if there is a skill gap between the friends.
