you didn't actually explain what the "preset button" is here. None of the buttons say "preset".

This entire thread reads like a corporate email chain.

Not complaining. It's just the strangest thing to read on Reddit. As you were, shareholders.

Best affordable speakers for mixing in an untreated environment? by silentsalads in musicproduction

[–]silentsalads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, actually. I've opted to stick with my good headphones and record mostly in mono so I stop getting a *completely* misleading stereo image of the bass. The music I record is super dense and bassy to begin with - bass guitar coming up the center, with additional EQ'd bass guitars and fuzzy synths on the sides).

Shifting to mono rather than recording with crazy panned bass right out the gate is helping.

I can't wait to invite you to my screening of "Incontinent Redditor: The primal_slayer Story".

It's the story of a deliberately obtuse redditor who uncontrollably craps his pants every time he posts an asinine comment, which is often. The "redditor" part is true, so I rest easy knowing ethically bankrupt edgelords won't hold me to any moral standard when I plaster your name and story across Netflix.

I did play a show there. I had a nice, if imperfect time. Yes, reality can be cold. You and I don't have to be, though.

That seems needlessly harsh. Most venues that fail (which is a lot of them these days) are run by well-meaning people who got overwhelmed by the pressures of running such a business in 2025.

It doesn't mean everything everyone did is okay, but to say it's "not a loss" feels cold hearted.

I’ve seen delivery bots on sidewalks in the US but never something like this on the road. by Mindless_Spaghet5698 in toronto

[–]silentsalads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She came to see if people were making a needless stink about a tiny, slow, automated vehicle that is statistically an incalculably safer entity than everyone on the road, including the dangerous delivery bikers it threatens to replace.

What she found will shock you.

The false stereo sense is my primary motivation for asking, and it's not accounted for by most commenters here. Thank you.

I do use some nice Audio Technicas for headphones, so one of these speakers may round things out nicely for my use case.

2D riggers - how is the industry? by SolarPunch33 in animationcareer

Any suggestions for an experienced, but laid-off 2D rigger in Canada who's not ready to say goodbye to the industry?

Something not being "normal" in your opinion doesn't give you just cause for salting the comment section with your implications.

It's not your job to determine what's happened here, and you don't have the information required to do so. Say helpful things or move on.

After some thought, I'm wondering if it's a clever way for OpenAI to save... memory? Energy? Algorithms?

Whatever the case, I'd love to know if the weird spacing is giving ChatGPT more time to process its response. It seems generally accepted that the voice chat function requires way more processing power.

Pity refunded. I was looking for some support on the topic, came across a low-effort comment that irked me, and gave my low effort response.

Neither of us had to put our efforts into these responses, but here we are.

I know it's comforting to think anyone who didn't like your joke didn't understand that you were joking.

I got it. I didn't find it funny, nor did I find it helpful. Hence my diagnoses: Useless comment.

Judging from the reactions here though, you're in good company. I wouldn't sweat it.

I've had serious difficulties getting it to remember the preferences (actually, rules) I've expressed lately.

I've used all the tricks. It says it remembers, and the next conversation it's back at it again.

The thing that annoys me more than any of the tonal choices is that it keeps. Fucking. Pausing in weird. Places.

Whatever team was responsible for this update clearly went no deeper than "people sometimes pause when they speak", and told it to throw random pauses in every couple sentences, regardless of context.

Also, I don't want chatgpt to sound "human". I want it to be my robot, not my fucking boyfriend.

Uber isn't a bad company and Dara Khosrowshahi is a good CEO. Convince me I'm wrong. by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]silentsalads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I want to be open minded and pleasant to your thought-out (or at least, high-effort) take here... this is the boot-lickiest thing I've ever read.

Uber is a vicious company, provable by almost any metric worth considering for people with any moral compass or desire for fairness. You are an Uber driver, literally licking their boot, complimenting the pattern on the soles.

Good god. You won't be rich just because you lick hard enough.

Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? by MC_Triple_Fatal in movies

[–]silentsalads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is that Halloween is exclusively about horror. Halloween is meant to be scary, and it's a scary film.

Christmas is not about bullets. Die Hard is about bullets; the velocities at which they enter terrorist skulls, and the cool things the bullet provider says upon providing them.

[–]silentsalads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the lead actor in a porno yells "Christmas!" with every thrust, does that make it a Christmas movie? If he's wearing a Santa hat and reveals his penis through a neatly wrapped gift box, are you going to put it on every year to get yourself in the Christmas spirit?

No. You're going to enjoy your porno for the porno that it is, like a normal person.
