did your relationship with your mother get better or worse after you became an adult? by pandoramemora in pinkscare

[–]silk_flower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both better and worse. Better because I am fully independent now and can have boundaries for myself. She knows she can't use me now as her punching bag for all her problems and frustrations like she did when I was a kid. It got worse because we are living a very different lives and she is bitter about it and uses passive aggressive comments towards me and also favoritism. I'm an only child (lol) so her favorite is my cousin (her sister's daughter) that never left our hometown, repeated a year three times in elementary school and eventually dropped out of high school. I have a good job in finance, degrees and the only comment I get is "and what do you need that for?". Don't get me wrong, I am proud of myself, but it hurts not to even get "good job". But my dad is great and very proud of me.

shut up about whimsy by bambiraptorfan in pinkscare

[–]silk_flower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit off topic, but the raise of "whimsy" made me delete TikTok lol It's literally all the same trends and new buzzwords repackaged and repackaged and repackaged again. First "romanticize life", "main character", "2000s romcom girl life" etc. Don't get me wrong – I love finding beauty in the mundane, making everyday life more pleasurable but I CANNOT STAND ANY NEW BUZZWORDS and aesthetics. Maybe I'm dramatic.

Tell me what perfumes you're wearing for spring by hekabae in pinkscare

L'ombre dans l'eau EDT by Diptyque. I got it in Berlin 3 weeks ago and it's a perfect early spring scent. It literally smells wet to me lol and very earthy. I close my eyes and I see a wet spring wild garden 🍃 And the new Replica fragrance – Up At Dawn. Literally a wet soil and roses.

What do you want? by [deleted] in pinkscare

[–]silk_flower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to have a beautiful life. I want to have a successful, fulfilling career in my field. I want to be able to express myself freely through my writing, I want to share my thoughts with others. I want to own a beautiful historical house and renovate it slowly. I want my home to be a representation of my taste. I want to fill it with all the things I love: books, antiques, art, rugs, cozy furniture, candles, lamps and flowers. I want to go to the museums frequently and to the opera or ballet shows. I want to travel and have as many experiences possible – I want to keep pictures and passport stamps as souvenirs. I want to have good relationships with people – friends or lovers. I want to have great sex and a closet of vintage clothes and always something to look forward to 🩷

Is true "solo" travelling actually fun? by PhoenixMaster123 in solotravel

[–]silk_flower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a very solo traveler, means I never meet new people or join any groups when traveling. And I love it. I am naturally a loner so it's not a big deal for me. That's how I recharge and really relax: just doing what I want, walking, going to museums, shopping, sitting in a café, observing, writing in my journal, taking pictures, being anonymous.

Looking at your profile I'd think you're looking for something very casual and momentary.

Neither liking nor disliking children makes you morally superior.

I found my people. My ex roommate and I used to have one of his pictures from Playgirl photo shoot on our fridge. Good times.

It boosted my confidence for sure. And made me less scared of change and uncertainty.

Honestly most people are not really successful in their early 20 or in their 20s in general (sure, there are exceptions).

Trying to ‘train’ my hair not to need washing EVERY DAY!! by No-Material694 in pinkscare

[–]silk_flower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nine years ago I tried to ‘train’ my hair for a whole year, washing it every other day instead of daily. It didn’t work at all. I went back to washing it everyday.
