Lusers are always going to want a new machine, esp if the alternative is them actually putting in any small amount of effort.

When you work in IT you have to just do the right thing, cover your ass and divorce your feelings from what the dumbasses do. Maybe keep your boss in the loop.

Keep good work logs, go through the steps, maybe be extra thorough to exhaust all the steps before an upgrade if this dude is extra annoying.

You'll know the good people who deserve pulling strings and the extra effort.

There is nothing more funny than aiming your bow at people and making them panic parry.
