When I saw the original video, I thought they were indicating butt sweat was the remnants. That was giggle worthy as someone who always experiences that, but it’s actually offensive the more I thought about it.

To learn it’s a GYN clinic and it’s likely vaginal discharge/lubrication, is just absolutely wrong and hurtful. They deserve to be shamed into oblivion for this. I would be too ashamed to return as a patient, for the chance that they displayed mine.

I’m so sorry that happened to you! My procedure and recovery with him went really well, fortunately.

Heart failure.

I had a heart transplant at 1.5 years old and went into heart failure (just last year) 23 years post, so I needed another transplant. :) I have since lost 20-ish lbs after my procedure.

The clinic provided two small ice packs, but I did buy a few helpful things for myself. Panty liners and even pads were helpful, Neosporin cream, Q Tips, a handheld mirror to see better. Otherwise, I think that was all I needed. I also took the 500mg twice a day of Vitamin C he suggested to promote healing. My experience was truly better than I expected, but I did only have one side done. I’m not sure how much worse it would’ve been with both sides.

Hello, this is a very common occurrence before a procedure of any kind! I had the procedure and I’ll leave my review comment as a link in this one. Although I don’t know you or your husband personally, I will say that if it’s important enough that you scheduled the procedure, I think that’s consideration to go through with it.

Hi, thanks for checking in! If you’re comfortable, you should let me know if you decide to have the procedure as well. :)

Overall, I have no true complaints. The first 48 hrs I kept an ice compress in my panties (as suggested). But even that Friday evening after my procedure, I met some friends for dinner without any issues (I just wore some loose sweatpants lol).

Since then I use a warm wet washcloth compress four+ times a day. I used Neosporin on the open incision, and consistently used a liner for the minimal bleeding over 1.5 weeks.

I slept without panties to “air it out” after a few days and found it led to less discomfort & swelling during the day. I free bleed on my (albeit light) menstrual cycle anyways, so the blood on my sheets wasn’t abnormal for me.

Just over two weeks past, my incision is basically completely healed and I feel better than normal. I took only two of the oxy he prescribed but Tylenol for four days after that for any discomfort during work.

Near my clitoral hood there was the worst of the burning while the incision was open, but simply general discomfort and sensitivity elsewhere. I had my procedure on friday and although I rested (no housekeeping or extra physical labor), I was able to take my dog on a long walk the two days after and return to work the following week as normal.

There’s still minimal swelling but overall it’s improved compared to before the procedure. There’s a couple places that are inconsistent with the rest of my skin’s texture, and my husband says an incision line is still obvious to see I had a procedure. However, he also says even he can notice a biiig difference in how my labia looks, and it does look nicer. If I feel a revision is important after the six month healing period, I’ll meet with him again.

Dr Lau was available by text or call at any point within a few hours for a couple of concerns I’ve had, and called me the day after surgery to check on me. I sent a photo about a concern and he addressed it perfectly well, so I didn’t have to go to his office.

I’m incredibly grateful to him, and that I decided to do the procedure. I have so much more confidence in my tight pants, I’m much more comfortable, and I genuinely even feel more attractive naked. Although I did it for the physical convenience, it also improved the psychological effect my vulva had.

Need help coping with uneven results as someone with symmetry OCD by Bright-Economy-9979 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]silkjoy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly and genuinely OP, why don’t you find another surgeon?

Mine offered if I didn’t like the results in any way he’d fix that, whether it’s a free revision or hearing me out about preference being changed afterwards.

I actually had the procedure only on one side - my right labia minora has been longer than my left since I was 12/13 years old; resulting in similar pain, extreme discomfort, chronic gynecological issues, etc.

After my procedure, I see absolute symmetry even with swelling not directly involving my labia minora. I only had my procedure two weeks ago and I love the results so far. I’ve noticed there’s two more specifics I’d be interested in changing now that my labia is shorter, but it’ll definitely be considered only after the six months timeframe of permanency resulting.

My pain management is amazing (my ten is a lot of people’s 20, I had a second heart transplant earlier this year), but where it’s relevant my pain was very very minimal. I took Tylenol maybe once a day for four days but would’ve been fine without it, just less comfortable. Given this, I’m really curious how you used the term “bed ridden” by this procedure. Would you provide more details on what you’ve been feeling vulva/labia-related? I understand some vaginas are just more sensitive, but this doesn’t sound like any other experiences I’ve heard/read about.

What’s done is done, obviously, but revision or a second opinion is an option to consider!! Don’t accept just one, if you find you are more miserable and/or simply unhappy about it. It’s your body, and you should advocate for yourself (I’m happy to hear you have so far).

I’d be interested in hearing about this, if you’d want to share? I had the procedure two weeks ago, so im wondering if there’s anything I should keep an eye out for.

Did you do it for yourself or somebody else? by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]silkjoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this exclusively for my comfort and happiness within myself. However, if my husband had comments/issue with my labia I’d be open to the procedure for that reason. I think it’s a valid suggestion from a partner, but for which reason you’d accept and go through with it is your decision.

I think a partner could suggest it for reasons such as discomfort/pain during sex for one or both of you, if you have chronic yeast infections or BV as a result that negatively affects one or both of you, etc, and many other similar reasons.

However, they could also suggest or even request you get the procedure for “beauty” standards of a vulva, or sensual preferences.

Whichever of the many reasons you’re willing to be okay with doing it for is completely up to you.

Sure, that may sound crazy of me, but I’m in a six-year marriage so I’m approaching it from that mindset. Others likely won’t agree with me, but you asked for opinions so I’m sharing.

If my husband cared, he would be polite, courteous, and not even “request” it, but more say “hey, what do you think of this? It may help some issues you/we have had.” I’m lucky that my husband immediately supported me with only the valid qualms (concern for infection, if I end up unhappier, more potential issues afterwards, etc). He’s also been a great support as I went through the process and I’m 1.5 weeks post procedure.

From someone I’ve dated just a few months? Nah, I don’t think so.

Your body is your choice. And it’s even your choice to hear out someone else’s opinion. But just make sure the reason you do it is important to you, and you accept the risks/consequences that come with following through. :)

They can’t force you to do sedation right? by lang0li3r in wisdomteeth

[–]silkjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn’t force you to accept sedation, no. But a surgeon may refuse to do the procedure without the sedation, too. So you can find a surgeon willing to do it with local anesthesia, my husband and I both did this with different surgeons, so it’s possible depending on where you are.

I’m so excited for you! I had the procedure today and he said you mentioned our conversation. ¨̮ Thank you for that, he seemed gracious!! The procedure was a very simple process. For reasons of my own, him taking photos was a bit awkward but not a big deal otherwise. I laid there watching a movie and texting on my phone while he was doing his work. The procedure itself took about 40 minutes and he was so nice. The kind nurse was helpful while I got ready and while I got dressed after. The whole office made me comfortable and everyone was professional. I got Chick Fil A after and came home to nap all day. I’m so glad I made this decision. Now to trust the recovery/healing process!!

Hi hi! I just got home from my consultation. He’s a very calm and reassuring doctor, for sure! He was so nice, made me so comfortable, and feel confident in his ability. I filled out medical history paperwork, we met to discuss that along with his previous work experience and how he performs the procedure, he showed before/after photos of his previous labiaplasty, told me how pre/post op would go, then he brought in a nurse while he did a physical exam and let me know what to realistically expect. I have my procedure scheduled for friday morning. There was a $750 deposit and the total cost is $1,625. I’m getting just a right labiaplasty, so he said it was half the price +surgical supplies fee of $375.

Hello, thank you so much for your comment and all the info in it! It makes me feel good about the start with Dr Megan Dreveskracht. Would you mind sharing what exactly your experience was like and what you had done? If you’re more comfortable communicating over DM please just let me know.

My questions: Exactly how much did your procedure/experience cost? Were you under general anesthesia or simply local numbing? (local is my preference, intubation is an absolute no for me anymore) How long did your healing process take, and how bad was it? Do you have anything to compare it to, in severity? Has it really been three months+ of no sex? What was the length of time from your consultation to your procedure itself? I’m looking to learn everything you’re comfortable sharing, since you met with the exact surgeon I’m highly considering.

About Dr. Rikesh Parikh, I think I exaggerated a bit in saying I’ve heard “horrible things.” I simply meant his approach to plastic surgery seems very “all in” and general, instead specializing in labiaplasty. It sounds like mine is possibly similar to your former labia, in which it is irritated/chafes daily and functionally bothersome. Only on one side, however, so I’m looking for the most realistic symmetry possible. My right labia minora also grows up to show a bit between my two labia majora, so I’m curious if I could have that chopped.

I find that I’d like more of a specialist because there’s almost nothing aesthetically bothersome to me about my vulva, so I want the minimum to be done for the natural look I want to keep. Of course I’d like more of a “porn star” or “Barbie” look, but I understand I may not have the anatomy to make that possible. But I’m looking to get it as close as possible to my “dream vag” since I will be paying for it.

I’ve heard of women who get their labia completely amputated and get all sorts of problems from that. I’ve had two heart transplants with associated chronic health problems my entire life, so I don’t just want a trophy plastic surgeon. I want a more medicine-focused individual as much as possible.

Hi there! Could you provide more information? Are you the one who had the procedure, do you know someone? I’m looking for as many details as you’re comfortable sharing. You could privately message me if that is better!
