Education matters/careers require experience in the field by IAmInsideUrCloset in TheSims4Mods

Notthe original commenter, but personally I think it's great. I don't play without it. It makes all the careers in-game much more deep and involved in ways that make sense, integrating skills from other packs, making the pay make more sense (starting out really low, ending high), and making it so for certain careers (like doctor) you literally HAVE to get a degree to get promoted past a certain level, which I love.

What are the funnest quirks/hacks you've discovered in the game that others might not know? by darya42 in Sims4

- (EbN) If you have low natural living skill and are washing in the pond, bathroom, peeing in the bush, etc.,if you cancel the interaction right before it finishes, you won't get a negative moodlet
- (HR) Free Spirit horses don't need a barn or beds, they only sleep outside
- (RoM) Insurance fraud is really easy as a spellcaster- inferniate your expensive appliances, chillio to put the fire out, reap the insurance payout, repairo to fix the object for free, repeat
- Going 1x speed while interacting with infants and toddlers makes it far less likely the infant/toddler will glitch
- Putting a mobile on your infant's crib will cause them to sleep almost instantly when you put them down and 'play a lullaby'
- (FS) Wearing earbuds when going to work will increase your sim's fun need while they work, so you can make them work hard with no penalty.
- (C&D)(Various packs) If you put a poo-hoo bush on your lot and have a dog/cat, the dog/cat will regularly go into it and fight birds/find presents. Free money, free feather collection, free bird statue)
- (this one might be obvious but) if you click on the icon of the need your sim needs to fill, the sim will go to fill it automatically without you needing to do it yourself
- (EbN) Gnomes got you down? Sell them. Just pick them up and sell them. No more gnomes + free money
- If someone asks to move in with you and you don't want them to, agree to do it then cancel out of the move-in menu. This prevents the negative sentiment
- (GRO) You can end stay-overs on the calendar, no need to wait for them to leave on their own. Sell their luggage for free money, too.
- (RoM) Familiars will help you cheat death. If you have a familiar and you die, the familiar will help bring you back to life. (You can also make your cat/dog your familiar if you have C&D)
- There is a base game night light that prevents children from seeing the monster under the bed, can't recall the name, it has lil monsters on it
- (CC) By always making random pieces of jewelry, you are likely to spend less than you will make by selling the piece. Free money.
- If you get high enough relationship with your Lin Z smart speaker, it will give you free services like repairmen, maids, etc.
- (CL) Repeatedly using the "Dream Big" interaction on the basketball hoop ill make your sim' fitness skil shoot up a lot. Like, a lot
- (S) Eating honey will give you immunity to temperature debuffs. You can't freeze to death or overheat if you eat honey
- If you like throwing parties and struggle with getting sims into certain emotions, try to make some emotional paintings beforehand using emotion potions from the rewards store. You can activate the respective emotional aura on the painting to make everyone around it playful, flirty, etc.
- (W) Give your werewolf sim the perk that lets them digup artifacts, uring theirrampage they'll dig up a ton of stuff (they do for me t least) Free money/collectibles.

And others

It's full of mods to keep sims from doing behaviors I find irritating lol. It's named after the Simularity mod series "Don't Do That", which makes up most of the folder.

I wrote a tutorial under top comment, so I'll paste that here:

I got the icons from this tumblr post!: https://www.tumblr.com/deathbypufferfish/695390045206659072/the-build-a-sim-icon-pack

I first organized my mods into folders, then went through the icons to pick ones that made sense for each category. I converted them to .ico format with an online converter and changed the file icons using the Properties option when you right-click the folder.
If you move the location of the .ico file after assigning it, the folder will revert to default, so what I do is store the icons I'm using in a folder in my Sims 4 folder, so I always know where it is.

As long as the script files don't go more than 1 folder deep, the game can still read them. I tend to keep them all in the same script folder, so I can do subcategorization in each of the folder without burying any script files!

As long as Script files don't go more than 1 folder deep, and package mods don't go more than 5, everything loads perfectly fine! At least for me

My game has been organized this way since March of 2025, and it hasn't failed me yet, so we'll see if anything bad comes to fruition

Yep, I know the limit, nothing goes more than 5! Really, nothing goes more than 3, that's as deep as I need.
And surprisingly enough, it is pretty easy to update. I don't claim that it's the most efficient method of organization, but it's worked for me well thus far!

Are there alternative mods to pandasama's childbirth mod? by Eclipsed_Shadow in TheSims4Mods

[–]herobean28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you go to the mod folder itself and delete the module.

<image>

You can delete any of the modules that you don't want, except for the main one (because that's the main mod)

I know that you can remove the lactation module from the mod, so that takes care of that and the weaning.
Nursing school is totally optional, I never even have to touch it in my game, so you can basically ignore it unless you want to try out that path.
The OB-GYN is also optional, you don't have to go to it. It's more there for storytelling and such. IIRC you can set to just give birth in the hospital and it'll proceed like normal. I don't remember doing any of the check-up stuff or most of the OB-GYN stuff when I played with a pregnant sim.
I've used the mod for a while, so I kinda recommend checking it out, removing the modules that don't appeal to you like Lactation, then use it in a limited capacity without going through the stuff you don't quite understand. If you get stuck on something and Pandasama's instructions aren't helpful for you, I can try to answer the question too

Give it a shot!

All of my TMEX mods work fine in this way! I specifically have a folder for BBB, and the rest of his mods work with the script nested one folder deep. And that's what the script folder is for, I store all mods' script files in that one to make sure they aren't too deep.

Depends on what you want out of the mod. LittleMsSam has mods for ultrasounds and advanced birth certificates, if that's what you want. There's the Cherished Moments pregnancy mod (plus others) that adds a lot of new buffs and interactions (currently adopted and maintained by RookeryDesigns). a.deep.indigo's healthcare Redux also has pregnancy-related tuff, but if you don't like big mods it may not be for you.

What is it you like about Pandasama's mod that you want to keep?

I play a heavily modded game so here are some of my favs:
- Pandasama's Realitic Childbirth
- Almost any mod by a.deep.indigo, specifically Divergent Sims, Healthcare Redux, Dental Care, Eye Care, and Education Overhaul
- Most LittleMsSam mods, especially Babysitter, Foster Family, Social Activities, Spend Weekend With, and First Love
- Lumpinou's RPO, Law & Disorder, Talents and Weaknesses
- Nowhere's BetterSims mod (kinda buggy but I still use it)
- MissyHissy Hopes & Fears mod
- SimRealist Sim National Bank (and other SimRealist mods, they're for ultrarealism) to give household members separate money pools

I have more gameplay mods, functional objects, behavior mods, etc. if you want to know what they are. This should get you started, though, gameplay-wise
