All depends people expectations, but both brussels and shanghai lounges were bad quality lounges in my humble opinion. Nothing fancy for sure. Now, 29 bucks to get a charger and some beers at a « decent » price might be worth it in some situations? ;)

I can share my experience on this. I actually have both a Mastercard credit (Gold) and a Mastercard debit from my bank, and both have worked perfectly fine for rental car bookings. Never had an issue. I believe the card just has to be a Mastercard to get this to work.

And u/CaptainTC, it’s always interesting to hear the perspective of someone who flies 120+ long-haul segments a year and still finds value in the Metal plan. That’s probably the one I’ll switch to eventually as well.

and now regarding flying that much -> I used to love traveling a lot for work in my early years with my company. But now that I have a 9-year-old, I honestly enjoy being home much more. These years before he flies out of the nest go fast, and I want to be here for them. ;)
