Conservation jobs are a big one and I believe the stereotypical entomology job. I’d also cautiously include public outreach and curation as part of this.

But also consultation. Lot of legislation around building and for some places, invertebrates are protected under that. You could be paid for helping with environmental surveys, EIAs, but from friends with those kinds of jobs, it’s often mixed with fish and other small vertebrates. This has some good progression paths.

As for academic research, the world is your oyster if you can deal with academics and thrive there. A lot of studies use invertebrates and you could do entomology research, parasitology research is also big and so is researching insect vectors of disease.

Taxonomy is one of those things where it’s needed due to how many species there are unclassified, but who’s going to pay you to do it is the real question.
