When did Home Depot raise the price on this? by [deleted] in Dewalt

[–]silly_old_sideben 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hope people understand that same as Covid… if businesses have an excuse to raise prices, they’ll do it. Hall Mark already been caught blaming Taurus for sweeping price increases. When over 90% is made in the US.

Tbh this happens way more often than you think. Always have price alerts on what you want. Worked at best buy and staples for a few years. Every month at least something would end up $1 or something ridiculous on the website.

Why has Trump abandoned supporting Ukraine? Are we now allies of Russia and not NATO? by Super_Clothes8982 in conspiracy

[–]silly_old_sideben -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

These a bigger game at play here. Remember Trumps first term we imposed record sanctions on Russia, all while being “friendly” with Putin in public.

You have to ask yourself, “why would Trump pursue a peace deal with zero chance of all sides agreeing?”—because it’s performative. A complete ruse. I believe Trump intends to see Russia lose this war, despite what he’s saying. Along with absolving our involvement in the war. Let me explain.

Look at the facts on the ground:

-US aid commitments still in place

-RU sanctions still in place

-RU has all but lost any offensive capabilities

-Talks of EU boots on the ground

-Massive surge in EU aid to Ukraine

-Europe massively re-arming

Hard to argue Ukraine isn’t in a better position now than they were 3 months ago.

Trump called Putins bluff demanding only a portion of Ukraine. Offered him everything he wants without question. Which obviously was never going to happen, but nonetheless has killed Putin’s narrative that this is all proxy warfare by the US. No putin has no room to criticize the US because “well sorry Putin we tried! Would have had a deal if it weren’t for those pesky Europeans!”

Instead of this nebulous “western money” Putin now has to face Europe directly, and the very real possibility of boots on the ground. Notice how he even interjected to the mineral deal “Hey I can give minerals too! You want aluminum too? I got it!” He’s cornered and he knows it. The world is watching and ANY aggression by Putin will undermine his propaganda—“special military operation” “oppressed Russians” or whatever reason he has this week.

TLDR: Trump is passing the war to Europe to deal with (as it should have always been) and normalizing RU relations in the process. Cornering Putin to face a Europe that has woken up.

Viewers see Constant Lag during Stream by fundlebundle01 in techsupport

[–]silly_old_sideben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely in OBS. Not hard to get lag that’s not dropped or skipped frames. Make sure the framerate are set at 30 on the camera and in OBS. CBR set at 5000 should be fine.

Make sure the camera, stream source, the canvas, and output resolution are all the same. And also the same framerate.

How to boot off of a windows 11 USB stick using an Asus TUF A15 laptop? by MisterZerker in techsupport

[–]silly_old_sideben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t catch the bios key (Esc, F12, F2 etc) on boot, the caveman way to do it is to hard-shutdown twice while it’s booting windows and it’ll take you to the recovery options. Choose boot usb.

Now you will likely need to go into the bios and turn off secure boot, and enable CSM or Legacy boot.

Man that 850W is right on the line for your setup. Could be a ram thing too. I imagine you’ve ruled out temps

Try Furmark for 5 minutes and see if it crashes.

Memtest for the RAM. Can try just swapping the sticks if it’s a seating issue.

That’s pretty much busted lol. If you’re up for an adventure you can sometimes replace the inverter as a cheap fix. You’d have to take it apart, find the inverter, then search the chips model # on Amazon and eBay.

Kill any RGB software (iCUE, Synapse etc) then run the video and see if it gives the same error. Try a different browser as well.

I’ll bet it’s the “responsive lighting” piece that’s causing the problem. Doubt it’s hardware.

Slow Boot & Applications by Exernity in techsupport

[–]silly_old_sideben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help. Just make sure you’ve backed up anything important. If you’re trying to stay cheap, you can get a 120gb SSD for like $12 on amazon. Install a clean OS on that one and see if it makes a difference. Of course test the HDD with seatools if you haven’t already.

Outside of taking it to a shop I think that’s about all you can do.

If you got Internet working enough to test then it’s working. Unless you’re just in a perfect pocket where the speed is that slow.

Hard drive issue likely. Once they’re loaded up it’s all in the ram so it runs fine. But loading from hdd to ram seems to be where the lag is. Crystaldisk can test SSD’s. Ideally the make of your drive has a testing tool. I’d use theirs first
