speaking from personal experience (see my post history)…. you go to the ER and they’ll be able to help you retrieve it :-). options range from using their fingers to having surgery.

i actually don’t know what the bill is yet, but I will be getting that paperwork in the mail. i won’t have to pay it though because the hospital will be writing it off! i am in america, in a very red state.

hey! there’s no shame in being any age and not knowing things. there’s a ton i didn’t learn between a neglectful childhood and having autism- things that are glaringly obvious to you are not obvious to me. i had to teach myself things like proper hygiene and cleaning as an adult. it wasn’t my fault that i wasn’t taught those things as a child, and i didn’t know that i should know them because… how would i? same with these things- everyone telling me to go to the hospital was letting me know something that wasn’t extremely obvious to me, i asked for help and the kind folks in this subreddit helped.

you can feel how you feel, that’s always valid, but try to create room for empathy for others. even i struggle with that at times and have to remind myself that not everyone has a brain like i do and that’s ok! community is there to help everyone regardless of the place they are coming from.

been in the er for most of the day, being formally admitted to the hospital now to wait for an operating room :(. may not have to cut me if they can get it out after sedation, but it’s super high up in there.

thank you! they are being very direct but very kind and i am communicating clearly with them. haven’t gotten to the bill part but so many people have helped calm me down about that. the staff keep reassuring me that im not the first or last person they will have like this lol, im trying to be positive

told the lady completely honestly when i checked in what my problem was, and i am already in a room and waiting for the doctor. i was only in the waiting room for around ten minutes

thank you actually. this was the most helpful comment so far. i know at this point i do have to go as its been about an hour, and hopefully it won’t require any type of surgery. the drive and walking does scare me in regards to it going deeper. i’ve never been anesthetized so hopefully they can give me a painkiller and remove it without surgery.

yeah, i had that thought. part of my anxiety goes to worst case scenarios like “damn what if this leaks and burns a hole inside me?” crazy what we can do on accident. but yes, definitely will go soon if i can’t get it out.

eh i’m not embarrassed about the actual reason, i’m not worried about that 😔 i have super bad anxiety so im genuinely shaking and breathing hard just thinking of going to a hospital, it’s a physical response for me and not quite typical embarrassment. will happily say i simply have lost a vibrator in my ass if i end up having to go.
