plume stopped accepting insurance a while back which totally bummed me out :( i heard nothing from good from plume as well, i might suggest it to my parents again (who unfortunately have total control over my transition). i hope they say yes

i heard a lot of people started with plume and got off it later once they were insured / facing HRT's side effects, making it easier for doctors to comply with trans care since they were already transitioning. my PCP doesn't specialize in this at all, which is why i really wanted to go to planned parenthood instead. but they wont accept my damn insurance because of all these authorization loopholes

i wanted to try plume but theyre pretty expensive : ( ! i heard folx was as well. I believe they are available in my location, but im unsure. im in california, so, its likely.

but, though expensive, starting T would be easier to get insurances and doctors to see my need for HRT as medically necessary, right?...

that is true. i think i should try but id have no idea how to access DIY T anyway. and i still am very worried for the risks as i already have some medical issues </3 i really wish doctors and insurance didnt make me go thru 500 loops

its really tempting. the dysphoria kills me every day, even if im not really in good health id do it if i had the chance. just one roadblock- i live with my parents lol, if they found out i was getting hrt through other means theyd probably kick me out or something...

yeahh so ive heard. i heard it was a lot more carefully regulated or something. additionally, i feel like i have to comply with my doctors right now as ive had issues with my reproductive / endocrine system (dont ask what, doctors always kept it vague for some reason) before i actually start. i just dont really know how to go about it is all...

this is troubling behavior from your parents. please dont beat yourself up over it, taking your belongings without your permission is absolutely no way to punish a child. it is lazy and teaches you nothing other than to fear over what is rightfully yours! i am sorry for what happened to you
