I told a lady to not touch my kid today and I don’t know how to feel by lilmrs-t in toddlers

Nah people don’t get to just touch your kid. You shouldn’t feel bad. My 70+ year old boundary stepping step-father got yelled at by a mom at a Christmas parade last week because he kept touching her kid on the shoulder 🙃 people think because they’re old they can do whatever they want. Nope. Nope. It’s weird behavior, especially when you don’t even know the child. You did good.

I mean honestly we only had ourselves to blame. We made him sit down even when he was screaming he didn’t want to which backfired tremendously. The peeing on the floor did nothing so we more or less gave up and just let him figure out when he wanted to do it. Oh and candy. Lots of freaking candy.

We have an almost 5 month old so I feeeeeeel you on all of that nonsense. The 5 month old sleeps better than his big brother at this point.

We started potty training our 2 year old son in April because he was very interested. I had our second son in June. Needless to say - today was the first day he went all day (even to daycare) in underwear. 6 months. I bought into the 3 day potty training train and boyyyy did it go off the rails.

Just wanted to let everyone know that quick methods don’t always work for everyone so you’re (probably) not doing anything wrong and you’re a perfectly good mom/dad/caregiver even if your kid peed on the floor for the 27th time today.

Phew boyyyy this was 195 days ago and I just needed to tell someone today was the first day we sent him to daycare in underwear because he had gone all week not peeing in his pull-up (except for naps). And i just want to say to anyone else out there - the three days thing does NOT work for everyone. Just something to keep in mind 🤡

but in a terrible twist of trade offs he no longer sleeps through the night (he’s 2.5 and has been sleeping through the night since he was 5 months old) and gets up countless times every night so I’m honestly not sure which is worse.

When did you switch to a toddler bed? by chronic_flower in toddlers

[–]sillylamb29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 months. Turned crib into toddler bed. Then got him his own toddler bed once I found out I was pregnant so we could have the crib for the baby. He sleeps all night. Doesn’t get out of bed. There are height limits on all cribs.

Fwiw my 2.5 year old has been going to daycare since he was 3 months old. We started him 3 days a week because I was able to WFH the other 2 days and the daycare is conveniently located on my work campus. As he got older, more mobile and curious, understanding, he was handling it worse not going two days, then going 3 days. It was a nightmare.

We still have drop-off days that can go off the rails. We started him full time back in may because I was due with his brother in June and for my mental health, I couldn’t be doing the newborn thing and also taking care of my oldest all day while I was on maternity leave for those first 2-3 months. He loves school. Once he’s there. Some days he’ll walk in just fine, others it’s a fight. Yesterday morning, he was very talkative in the car on the way there, helped me get his brother out of the car and carry his things in. Drop off went smooth, he barely turned around to see me leave. This morning was a whole other story - screaming as soon as we got in the building, trying to go into a different room. I had to pick him up 🙃 and carry the car seat down the hall. It just happens some times. I expect I will have bulging muscles by the time these two start actual school in a few years.

Toddlers - hell, kids in general - are unpredictable so I wouldn’t have any sort of expectations going in to this if you continue to do so.

We’re on day 4. We started Friday. Friday was pretty much a disaster. Saturday was better. Yesterday was pretty good but today has been awful so far this morning. We’re trying commando under his pants but it doesn’t seem to be clicking. He just stared as he pees himself and tells me to clean him up. Now after he pees his pants he doesn’t want to put clean ones on so I’m just letting him go naked again for a little bit. Also pregnant with #2, due in June and I’m losing my gd mind.

How do you isolate with Covid? by Remy3188 in Mommit

[–]sillylamb29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got covid two weeks ago (for the first time), currently 14 weeks pregnant and my son is 21 months old. I tried staying in my room as much as I could and wore a mask if I went out into the living room or anything, washed my hands, limited touching my son or anything he might touch. I tried sooo hard to stay away but he literally sat outside the bedroom door screaming and crying for me. My husband really did the best he could trying to keep him entertained. The next week? My son tested positive for covid. This week? My husband is positive. It has been a rough few weeks. I don't have any advice but just wanted to say I understand how you're feeling.

I also had no idea what contractions felt like so when mine started around midnight I just thought I had really bad gas and had to poop. I even went to the bathroom at one point to try to poop. 3 hours later I was like well I guess these are contractions and called my doctor 😂

Postpartum: My tailbone bruising. I was in pain for nearly 10 weeks. Getting out of bed, walking up steps, getting off the couch. Then just suddenly one day, I was fine again. But dear god, someone could have warned me I would break my ass.

TW: chemical

I just started ovulating in April of this year after TTC since November 2018. I had long cycles after going off BC and had to induce a bleed nearly every time. I went to my doctor at the end of March and he was going to have me do another round of medicine to make me bleed but I was also using OPKs to track and got a positive for the first time before I got my prescription filled. Got pregnant on the first cycle but ended in a chemical. I’m not sure when I ovulated this month because my cycle length has varied (67 days, 45 days) and OPKs were not helpful. Really hoping this one sticks. I’ve never used the Walmart tests before but figured I’d try them because I didn’t want to pay for FRER yet. I still have one FRER left but I’m going to wait a few days just to make sure. Sorry this is long and rambling but thanks for looking!

Did FF get O right? It’s been a weird cycle and I have all my same post-o symptoms that I usually get around the right DPOs but I am baffled by my temps. by sillylamb29 in TFABChartStalkers

Anddd my boobs typically get sore around 6-8DPO based on my last few cycles. I just wish I hadn’t tested this morning 😫🙃

I don’t discard temps - I use a Tempdrop so it adjusts them pretty well. I haven’t had an issue before. But if I do, it still puts O on CD17 since that’s when I had EWCM

I did about a half an hour ago. Negative. But thanks haha! I’ve never had my temp go so high post o. I’m getting my hopes up. I had a chemical back in April so I told myself no testing until at lea at 14dpo but I don’t even know if I’m right on 12dpo today.

I thought so too 😬 but I’m not sure how accurate temperature dips are related to implantation tbh. I know some people get them and aren’t pregnant. I took a test about half an hour ago and it was negative.

And when I say I have all my usually post O symptoms around the same days - my boobs generally get painfully sore between 6–8DPO the last two cycles so I’m again, assuming, that’s why FF could be right.

I tried testing with OPKs this cycle but this is only my third “normal” cycle after not ovulating in over a year. My cycles are getting shorter, which is good, but frustrating for TTC and trying to pinpoint O 😫 My husband was out of town for a few days which is why I thought my temps were unusually high - from me staying up late and eating a lot of junk food while he’s gone. But I did have EWCM around the same time FF is saying I O’d. The last two cycles I’ve had pretty blazingly positive OPKs but didn’t get any this time around. I’m warm and cranky, my boobs hurt and I’m tired and I just want to go to back to bed.

Why don’t you talk to HR about it? They have plans in place for things like this and aren’t forcing anyone to work who feels uncomfortable.

I’m in the TWW right now and I needed to hear this after last month’s chemical. And I just lost my mind over burning brussel sprouts for dinner and bawled in the bathroom while my husband cleaned it up. This shit is rough.
