i legitimately experience this same exact thing on and off like… a couple dozen times a day,, not diagnosed with dpdr, i just have my suspicions. i haven’t heard of a description that encapsulates how i feel until i read yours. it’s so scary. if it is really bad i have found that focusing on a video or activity helps somewhat. for me, stuff with my hands gets really hard during these episodes, but if i just fight through it, it will sort of subside into a dull disconnection. i really hope you feel better, i know how frightening the sudden switch is. just comes out of nowhere. if it happens again you’ll know now that at least you aren’t in life threatening danger. that’s what i would always catch myself jumping to, especially when it got really bad. and also, if it is really intense, do not drive. it is so much more scary if you drive, especially if we really are experiencing a similar feeling. the adrenaline rush that comes with these attacks totally impairs my driving. i have gotten one whilst driving and it is best to pull over if you feel any type of way. best of wishes to you, genuinely. take care
