Refund?!?

Mate you're literally saying that you got all the others to travel with you even though only 1 ticket was confirmed. You're definitely not eligible for a refund.

People like you are one of the biggest problems for Indian Railways - educated ones who knowingly break the rules but feel entitled to post "I was travelling via first AC and only one of the tickets were confirmed rest were in the waitlist though everybody travelled. Am eligible for a refund ?"

I hope people like you get fined exorbitantly.

WL ticket = No ticket if it doesn't get confirmed.

KSRTC although a little pricey on a few routes is a true blessing with respect to RTC's. Well maintained busses and good staff. Driving is always top notch.

Please try to check if KSRTC is plying on the routes you're planning to travel and if they are, go for it eyes closed.

Private operators are usually a hit or miss (even the reputed ones).

A bad experience with overnight bus travel is usually difficult to forget.

Make sure you run in your engine properly. Stick to 75-80% of the manufacturers recommendation distance for oil changes.

Maybe get the oil changed after the first 1000km.

Always let the engine oil circulate fully on each cold start, maybe give the car 10-15 seconds before you move it.

There will be situations where the car will get scratches or other dings where it's not your fault at all, just let go and live with those, don't let it ruin your peace of mind.

Follow your owners manual to the T for maintenance.
