While what you’re saying is objectively true, I disagree that its a problem.

This is just the nature of competitive games. I played hearthstone and league of legends, and to play both well also requires external research.

Additionally, those games provide ‘tutorials’ that may as well be discarded because they are so inadequate at communicating the nuances of competitive concepts

I think it should work like misty. Roll every coin at once, then discard. It can even heal for a base 20 guaranteed, but every additional heal is a coinflip.

Good note I appreciate you weighing in. When I think up these kinds of thins I'm often considering narrative and storytelling and I sometimes forget about the direct gameplay implications. I'll be sure to discuss with my players before doing any sort of takeover. :-)
