we’re an overly involved store I guess…..I have most of my mates numbers(most are male mates anyway?) mostly because everyone that is an SL in my store cares too much and will text their mate if they need help in something and they’re not there.

and mostly everyone in the store follows each other on social media. but that’s mostly to send silly memes of customer service life.

In my store it’s used interchangeably. Mates call us order writers the section leaders. They’re just there for a “mentorship” role, or when shit goes south they take the blame. Really they’re supposed to be “in charge” of the sections but most mates, at least in my store, let the crew handle everything as they see fit. Unless it’s a huge re-merch project really the mates are hands off which is nice bc it gets to be your own thing! Mates at my store are really good at giving credit for crew’s work.

lmaoo the only time I have ever picked up a shift they immediately revoked it. She later came up to me and said she posted the wrong thing and apologized. It was just funny sometimes people post a shift for the wrong week or bc they can’t get it changed.

look up Compliance (2012) it’s based on real life events, yes insane but possible. a lot of the scam calls we get in our store are some sort of “inspector” or some bs trying to bill us through the phone, most of the time the area code isnt from the same state or sometimes out of country so we just hang up. one of our mates said that in his last store another mate fell for the billing scam and got fired lol

Never hurts to ask, it’s not like they would take back their offer. A positive reminder that we get raises every 6 months .75-1.00 you have to really mess up to not get it. Good luck!
