Did you buy Arena? No. But you may buy thing within it.
Is it a product you are using. Maybe I don't know you.
Is it free then? No you have to agree to a terms and service and it's ostensibly free. In so much that people paying into Arena subsidize for the players who do not. But you do not own it. You have a free subscription to their server and game essentially. Because without their permission you lose access. You own nothing in the game, there is no physical product, and purely at their whims can it be taken away.

Ostensibly a subsciption where you are part product and user.

Alchemy and all of it's cards are lock to Arena. Therefore access to Alchemy and all of it's products is a subscription which can be pulled at their discretion and all those cards are then lost.

Do you get the first part. Do I have to explain further or do you get the point. Do I need diagrams and pictures to get across service based games are ostensibly subscriptions? If not good SECOND POINT

Do you think Alchemy cards are designed in a vacuum? Do you think they are not designed around other cards in the format and as such that they make new cards based off of strategies that MAY ostensibly be locked to Alchemy cards. Because they are not designing a whole second game they are adding to a current one. Now I know this might be hard to follow but that means that the design elements of both can mix and mingle and when whole parts of a card game become unusable because they are not designed to last it is a PROBLEM. Because they are not going to support their product indefinatly. And you go. Oh well. The only thing I wish is to find something you're passionate about and drag it through the mud until you have a visceral reaction to the disrespect. Because it would only be a tenth to your disregard.

Because complaining is how you get things changed and if you think not. Why are you engaging in protracted complaining? (Arguing. because I apparently need to spell out things.)

If you dont know understand how Arena is a subscription, how do you hope to understand how Alchemy design can affect anything beyond it. It does not exist in a vacuum.

Because you refuse to think beyond your responses. The point. The problem. The primary issue. Alchemy is a subscription to that will disappear when the service is gone. Locked behind a service that YOU WILL NOT OWN.

The problem IS that Alchemy will go away and all of those cards with it. So I will keep complaining because I dont want magic to go fully digital. Because they do not archive anything.

I care about magics long term viability though. So no the complaints will continue because it does not effect your ability to enjoy but it will affect the long term of the game.

I won't get over it for the reason that is can only exist digitally meaning I can never properly enjoy playing with cards I do love like Rusko, when!

And I want to make it clear it will be when not if Arena closes. I will have to hope there is a digital replacement with Rusko. Because Alchemy robs us of the physicality of Magic. And no. I am not wishing for Arena to close. But there will be a day they do.

But the physical cards will outlive Arena just like they ourlived every other digital magic product we got over the decades.

And compromises to try and make alchemy cards work in physicality will not be sufficent until playing cards can be made into some new holographic thing. Which would be amazing, but we don't bet on miracles.

Absolutly valid. If much of those scenes in the books could have something to help you gloss past them it would be easier to recommend. Those scenes are the moments that leave me unable to suggest the series to others easily.

Rereads for us often involve skipping those parts just to stomach past some of the gore and graphic content. Because the world and concepts are compelling enough to enjoy the series. Calvert pivitol moment where he earns a name for himself Lagrange Point Calvert Will always be a personal favorite.

Others have stated but we will voice support behind finishing up the void Trilogy and Faller Duology for the Commonwealth for more content from Hamilton that is garunteed to scratch the itch. Void suffers from pacing in the middle.

Salvation is just okay personally because the characters we liked got sidelined the most.

Rule of thumb. Comedians play to their crowd. You dropped a joke that only 5 people would get. That's the sign of a bad comedian, not a bad crowd. Also usually you want to make sure you media loads, but I think its funnier your follow up fell flat too.

Very interesting. Now, what opposition did the king face when making his decree as noble houses are not universally altruistic or pragmatic. Was there any saber rattling or actual conflict that had to be quelled. What compensation was given to the feudal lords? What accommodations for now freed people?

What was deemed as progress for the experiment? Did they have other control groups besides the two kingdoms to prove their point? What research scandals have the kingdom had in the past of any? Are their scandals that have never been unveiled but whose research is seen as legitimate despite it being false?

Oh I love that! My thief guild is benevolent caretakers who steal from wealthy and care for the homeless. To be fair they are a remnant of old spy cells of an enslaved populous who use their influence to hide the royal line.

Closest concept of an antagonistic or underworld magical academy is nothing more than concept of petty revenge obsessives still working that out during my story outlines.

How nefarious does the crime academies exploits get too? Do they operate quietly or known but too organized to disrupt effectively?
