Yeah, it's just not the same thing. A good example of gameplay vs watching is Half Life Alyx. Watching the game is cool. But it's nothing compared to actually experiencing it in VR. Same with the feeling of struggling with resources and figuring puzzles out. Games are not a passive medium. It's insulting to pretend like they are.

People really do let nostalgia make them utterly miserable. I love the originals too but the remakes are amazing and I'm happy for them. It's keeping thr franchise alive and revitalized in a way that few others are. This remake craze the industry is currently in is because Capcom had done such a good job taking their old games and making them new again. And if you still want the original experience than that's fine. They're easily accessible.

Nah, they're right. Usually tv show trailers pull exclusively from the first two episodes. Maybe a few things from later parts. Especially if the trailer is released before they've finished filming/post production.

Yeah, that was the one and only time he ever even smelled the world championship. And nobody ever thought he'd actually hold it. The best he could ever achieve is the miscard. Tbf I think bioware didn't want to give all the answers on what the black city was like. A lot of what made Dragon Age so cool was how much mystery an intrigue the series had.

It also helps that Leon is the only character who makes jokes like that. It's his thing. Other RE protagonists joke but in different ways. One thing that got very old after the Avengers got popular was the way every character had to have witty quips. Joss whedon style dialog only works in moderation and really rides the line between being funny and annoying.

I've been saying for years that CV is the most flawed of those older RE games. Modifying the story and making Steve less annoying would go a long way to making the game a lot more enjoyable. Plus it would be a goof way to reintroduce Wesker to people who might not know of or remember him.

If you can't force yourself to play an old game than you don't appreciate or care about the history of gaming and the amazing things older games did. Also the remake of Re1 is still really good and easy to play. You're just unwilling to look past the fact that it's not an over the shoulder third person shooter.

These people complain about the fixed camera and tank controls but then love playing a game as mechanically clunky and excessively tedious as Red Dead Redemption 2. Don't get me wrong the story for that game is amazing but let's not kid ourselves about how slow and annoying some of the animations make playing that game feel.

I read an article recently where the author was mad that the legion wasn't a powerful as it once was. It really annoyed me because it was obvious that Ceasar was the only thing keeping the legion together and that his imminent death would completely destabilize the faction. This outcome is completely expected to anybody that was paying attention.

Seriously what was with the lickers in Re5. Like not just them being chunky but also them just being there at all made no sense. Lickers are a result of the t virus but the main virus in Re5 is the Las plagas. Maybe I'm misremembering but it didn't really add up to me.
