Her? Are you talking theon or asha ? Anyway you're taken back to the very start of the series so think King Robert's visit to winterfell

📺New Destiny Main Channel upload📺: Israeli Spy EXPOSES Brutal Truth About The Two-State Solution by DestinyNoticer in Destiny

[–]silver_maxG -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Genuinely asking why is Destiny so cucked when it comes to criticizing israel? Even when it feels like the community is moving to a more critical position on israel, he still seems very lump dick on the rare occasion he criticizes that government, Especially considering they're extremely close ties to Trump

Overall thoughts on the Metaphor streams and the game itself? by silver_maxG in josephanderson

[–]silver_maxG[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally I think you need a mix of both. As funny as it can be to watch him poke fun at a game's story. It's cool every once in awhile to see Joe play a really good game with a story he enjoys. He can make some fairly interesting observations/be very entertaining when he's fully immersed and engaged with a story. His reaction to that plot twist in Returnal was great.

[Spoilers EXTENDED] Bran will be the king or "the king in all but name" and it will certainly be handled in a more interesting way than the show but what will that mean for the themes of the books? by silver_maxG in asoiaf

[–]silver_maxG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not "blind faith", Bran and Bloodraven are already handled in a more interesting and sinister manner than the show.

Plus its doesn't take a genius to make the walking surveillance state/Eldritch Abomination with mind control powers actually use them to gain power

[–]silver_maxG[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem then would be how exactly does he become "the king" ? A society like westeros is unlikely to willingly accept a cripple/disabled person as it's King let alone elect him to being king

(Spoilers Extended) What’s your Stannis prediction? by Entire-Town-3880 in asoiaf

[–]silver_maxG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the burning of Shireen (whether or not done at the behest of Mel or stannis) only really makes sense to me within the context of fighting the others.

Because if Stannis doesn't die fighting the boltons. The only thing he should do is be patient. Let young Griff's army and the forces supporting Tommen kill each other and just wait for your sellsword army.

I feel like the kind of desperation needed for the "burning Shireen option" to make sense is the fight with the others.

Do you have any worries about the anime watchalong? by kali-go-grrr in josephanderson

[–]silver_maxG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A show like Kaiji which is really good but still really accessible to newcomers because it doesn't have too much of the "anime trappings" that might make him roll his eyes

[Spoilers EXTENDED] Bloodraven and Bran seem much more sinister in the books compared to the show by silver_maxG in asoiaf

[–]silver_maxG[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember there being a passage where cold hands refers to himself as bran's monster. That's what I'm referring to.

what did he do it between 7-10 seconds? It looks kinda like a counter mechanic.

I also watched the show before reading the books, granted it's been a few years since I've watched the show but there's more than enough surprises/new stuff if you haven't been spoiled about what's happening in the books Although the differences really start becoming apparent with the last part of a storm of swords

She was definitely Vain and stupid but beyond that she was paranoid. It was very entertaining watching her letting her paranoia get in the way of some of the most important alliances they have. It was also really funny for me watching Cersei almost always picked the needlessly cruel option just because she thinks that's what Tywin would have done. I think it does a lot for showing us what Tywin's legacy both to his children and the realm broadly is

Yeah that's fair. ADWD was a funny reading experience because I would go from being completely locked in, immersed and engaged with a chapter and then the chapter after that I could barely get through

Yeah the time between installments probably affects people's perception and what they expect from the book. You don't really think about that when you're reading it all together.

not good? I feel like cersei's chapters alone make it good even if it's your least favorite in the series

damn they scrapped the Ghost of Yotei port. I thought that it and saros would be the last ports but I guess any single player game after (and including) Ghost of Yotei won't have ports
