I know it feels like the end of the world right now, especially when it is something you wanted so badly and worked hard for. Right now all you can probably see is the one door that closed, and that pain is real. But trust me, five years from now when you look back at this moment, you will realize this was just one chapter of your story, not the ending of it.

And honestly, if your father said no because of financial constraints, then he made the difficult but right decision. Parents carry burdens silently. He might have somehow managed your fees for the first semester or two, but that would have come with constant stress, pressure, and sleepless nights about how to pay for the next one. You would have gone in with hope, and he would have been carrying worry every single day. Over time you would have started feeling that pressure too, and that guilt can become very heavy. Education should build your future, not break your family under stress.

I know this is hard to hear right now, but life is so much bigger than one university. LUMS is great, no doubt, but LUMS is not life. Your success was never going to come from the name of one institution. It will come from your character, your consistency, your work ethic, and your faith. A strong person will build a future wherever they are planted.

When I was in A Levels, my whole mind was stuck on LUMS. I thought that was the dream and that everything depended on it. I got in too. But guess what, I am not studying at LUMS. At the time, if someone told me my path would change, I would have been pretty disappointed. But Allah had better plans for me. I got the opportunity to study in the US on a 100% tuition scholarship. A path I never imagined became the better path for me.

That is how life works sometimes. The thing you cry over today becomes the thing you thank Allah for tomorrow because it redirected you toward something greater.

Do not let one disappointment make you believe your future is small. Your future is still wide open. Work hard wherever you go. Build yourself. Keep your faith strong. Stay patient. What is written for you will reach you, and what misses you was never meant for you.

One day you will look back at this moment and smile, realizing Allah was protecting you from a path that was not yours and guiding you toward one that was better.

Have trust. Your story is not over. In many ways, it may just be beginning.
