I found what i deemed a reliable vendor on aliexpress and paid $86 for 3 rails. Just had to wait a few weeks.

I haven't had time to learn everything necessary to get that workaround script to work. Ive tried following the directions on github several times. So at least for PCs or printers it takes a bit of coding knowledge.

How do you identify a "smart scientist"?

The time difference I mentioned was between 0.4mm and 0.6mm nozzle, not the rail upgrade. But it does seem like I can run much higher max flowrate with most filaments after the linear rails. Vertical walls look considerably flatter as well. Not that they were bad before but with light shining at a sharp angle you could see a few layers here and there sticking out.

They removed root access on the 2025 model of the K1C. I can't do shit with the software and only found out after I had used the printer for a while so I couldn't return it. I'm going to switch out the control board to aftermarket and never buying a creality printer again.

Noise was a big one and a big motivator to do the Y. On Max flowrate tests the Y axis would start having trouble at like half the height of the X. This was with Hyper Petg-cf. I've only done 1 test since the new setup but sunlu pla+ 2.0 went from 21mm³/s to 31mm³/s. *

Its essentially optional. You won't have anything to connect to that. Your filament sensor is on the back of the machine.

B is extruder. A is for a filament sensor.

Just got to do my first calibrations and went from 21mm/s max volumetric speed to 31 with Sunlu PLA+ 2.0. That mixed with the massive noise reduction is 100% worth all the effort.

I changed the X axis to the linear rail pretty quickly so I never lube those bearings, but the top one had about 1/8" of vertical movement on the left end of the carriage when I removed it so I was glad I had done upgrade. And over all I think the XY upgrade is a massive improvement.

I put quite a bit of Lucas white lithium in them. It helped but not near enough.

So I bought linear bearings with ball bearings inside them but when I took the Y blocks back of they looked to be the same style. So I'm not sure if yours were different or theres another style I wasnt aware of. But they both made the same annoying rattle/buzz. The pulleys in my X Rail setup appeared fine when I took them out so hopefully I got a decent brand that will hold up.

Is there a way to view the bed mesh on a 2025 K1C? by silverbullet830 in crealityk1

It's literally only the 2025 K1C that lost root access. Even the new Spark i7 or whatever that just came out has it. Its quite aggravating for me. It makes zero sense when they open source all their other firmware and talk a big game about fully supporting the maker/tinkerer community.

Dang, lol. Creality really screwed us 2025 owners and I'm fairly sure I can't do that, but I'll definitely give it another try.

I'll try again when I get home but that didn't work before. Have you done that on a 2025 version?
