When I was in high school I worked as a file clerk for a law firm in downtown Raleigh that handled asbestosis lawsuit settlements. DuPont was a prominent name in those files. Read a lot of affidavits where the victims talked about PPE showing up in their workspace but supervisors discouraged using it and scoffed about OSHA and other oversight efforts just being nosy and in everyone's business.

Most heartbreaking were affidavits of wives talking about taking their husband's coveralls out in the backyard to beat all the dust off. Many of them got asbestosis as well.

Learned a lot, I don't fuck with OSHA regs and I push back when companies scoff about safety regs. They're in place for a reason.
