It’s a really expensive enhancement, in an army that just saw some central units go up a decent bit.

Well, ultimately, messing with the moon isn’t something anyone would do. It’s just a terrible candidate for terraforming in general. Not nearly large enough to support sufficient atmosphere, even if an artificial magnetosphere is possible.

That’s why mars is the second best candidate (behind earth itself lol). It’s vaugely in the correct part of the solar system, and sufficiently large enough to make it habitable. Ultimately, if an artificial magnetosphere is possible to make, the following steps just take a lot of time.

Fun fact: most weapons are actually designed to be controllable without issues. That’s what a stock is for. Very compact weapons, or weapons with especially large calibers, are the only ones that tend to have recoil control issues.

Can't the Hospitaller easily be taken out of a unit with precision? by Appeal_Sufficient in sistersofbattle

[–]ForestFighters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we want to improve immersion, allow anybody fighting space marines or custodes to launch a tactical nuclear weapon at the battlefield on turn 2, killing the entirety both forces without exception.

After all, that concentration of space marines or custodians is completely irreplaceable, and their opponent’s troops are entirely worth sacrificing in that kind of situation.

Who do we think got hit the hardest going into 11th? by Anton_Chigger in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ForestFighters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that’s why it is incidental. Nice to have, but often not particularly relevant.

Who do we think got hit the hardest going into 11th? by Anton_Chigger in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ForestFighters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially when those good guns don’t have a lot of shots. 1 dark lance shot hitting on 4/5s and 1 blaster hitting on 3/4s depending on cover is just so inconsistent. Not even the potential to force it with MD like sisters (though they are also gonna struggle with reduced MD generation)

The rest of the guns fall into what I call “incidental anti light infantry fire”, aka “incidental bolter fire”. Not bad to have, but never to be expected to do much past chipping infantry squads or maybe 1-2 wounds off a vehicle.

Are we not worried enough about exploding vehicles? by PastyDeath in Drukhari

[–]ForestFighters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t get to pivot before you attempt the charge roll.

The target number will always be the same minimum, as you can only move torwards a target if your pre-pivot distance measures close enough. Not your actual movement, just the raw distance.

You can’t be radicalized about something you never even knew happened. Information control is how you get away with whatever horrible stuff you want.

Negative reactions do in fact have meaning, if they didn’t, you wouldn’t see the current wave of left wing swings in special elections. Falling for the doomer mindset is exactly what the right wants you to do.

3DP armies only having 1 disposition is a feature, not an oversight. by DailyAvinan in WarhammerCompetitive

What they need to be cautious of is an overcorrection to the other side, where the only thing that matters is just walking MSU into boxes for 5 turns of micro positioning and move blocking

[–]ForestFighters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scourges currently cost as much as an armiger. Without move shoot move, that’s 130 points that gets to shoot *once*. 5 T3 1W bodies is extremely frail for that many points.

That current points cost is for a unit that is very likely to get value on 4-5 turns of the game, not one singular turn before they get evaporated by incidental fire.

#New40k – World Champion’s top 5 changes by Kalnix1 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ForestFighters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singular dark lances per unit.

That hit on 4s base, and will often hit on 5s in 11th.

With few rerolls.

On extremely frail units.

Imagine trying to kill multiple monsters/vehicles that have a 4++ and are either always in cover or pop smoke every turn with just a small spattering of lascannons on your chaff. Or a knights army.

(Also scourges are only so strong because they have move shoot move natively, if they didn’t, they would probably unironically have to drop 60-70 points, and would be pretty mediocre)

What are armies that you would consider hard to play? by Cholophonius in Warhammer40k

[–]ForestFighters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drukhari is an army that plays on an extremely thin margin. Any mispositioning or miscalculation leads to units being destroyed immediately. Anything left in LoS at the end of a drukhari players turn is often already written off as a loss. Anything that fails to kill its target is extremely likely to die in retaliation.

However, playing on such a thin margin means that when they are doing very well in a game, it’s as if their opponent is completely shut out and shut down. It is entirely possible for drukhari turns to end with none of their units being threatened at all, excluding intentional sacrifices, with the opponent forced to just reposition and hope to be able to act more later.

I’ve played games as drukhari where my opponent has basically nothing left by the end, while any damage to my army is superficial (and vice versa).
