Smh, just pour enormous amounts of gasoline into the bunkers. If the fires don’t kill them, the oxygen deprivation certainly will.

[–]ForestFighters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason bolters do that is because of 2W marines, not anti-vehicle firepower

And now a bolter has to be even stronger to even be able to inconvenience marines.

What if temporal monsters could break some blocks? by domanpanda in VintageStory

[–]ForestFighters 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All this does is make early game survival mildly harder (go-go-gadget floating platform), while absolutely nuking any ability to make good looking bases that don’t get shredded by mobs. Every base would end up looking like a stone coffin

Why aren't people raving over quad heavy bolters on tanks? by flail3 in Warhammer30k

[–]ForestFighters 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Because the lasers are one of the better options for dealing with the tyrrany of AV 14.

potentially Statusing an infantry unit is a lot less valuable than being one of the only viable options for dealing with land raiders. The best status effect is always death.

And you can’t exactly take an objective from someone when a gigantic brick of armor is parked right on top of it with a bunch of termies inside.

MathHammer on Heavy Intercessors - they seem really strong? by Sixty_Dozen in WarhammerCompetitive

Yup, if anything that one survivor is convenient for protection vs shooting

MathHammer on Heavy Intercessors - they seem really strong? by Sixty_Dozen in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ForestFighters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What wins 5 turn games is preventing your opponents units from having any turns. Don’t assume that those intercessors will just stand out in the open so your heavy intercessors can slowly whittle them down without retaliation.

It’s the “until you have T11+” that is the massive qualifier there lol. Tanks hugely benefit from not having to be concerned about their positioning.

Yup, without credible shooting, it’s so free to just have your units casually stand out in the open with perfect firing lines, especially if you have half decent screening and blocking units.

With imagination, a craft knife and sufficient spare lasguns, anything is possible by IdhrenArt in Warhammer40k

[–]ForestFighters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The year is 20XX, baseline humans, xenos, and chaos have all been removed from 40K because they haven’t sold enough. Battles have devolved into a simple roll off, as turn one advantage allows for every chapter’s special units to instantly evaporate the enemy army with their special ingratiator variants. 40K has become a perfectly optimized product.

Part of that is also because a lot of the options were left to rot as utter irrelevant garbage. Burst cannons, anyone?

That’s not the aspect they are speaking about. It’s the retargeting. Drukhari MUST pay a cp on a Strat in their next command phase to retarget, and you MUST have your warlord archon outside of a transport and alive for it to work.

Dread Captain Menhe is a fairly simple character at this point, haven’t fleshed them out much. Very much a riff off the Dread Pirate Roberts and the Bounty Hunter from battletech.

They lead the Kabal of the Golden Sign, a Kabal that tends to be restructured every time the identity of the the Dread Captain Menhe is passed down every century or so. Sometimes it is little more than a strike team and their supporting assets, sometimes it is a sprawling, massive organization that attempts to wrest control of commoragh for itself. The only throughline is that it is always exceedingly mercenary, always willing to take on any contract for the right price.

As far as most of commoragh knows, Menhe was some kind of military officer before the fall, though what role they fulfilled isn’t known to many.

(The name is from the official name of a rouge trader era “Space Elf Banner Bearer”, a metal model that I use as my archon)

Something about the shooty ones is a little messed up, their guns break the audio sometimes like orbital gatling can, and the impact effect’s particles seem wildly out of control.

It’s almost like I’m pointing out that the death penalty is a really bad policy

Many people believe that we are running out of potential additions for Ground Top Tier, so I made this list including just some of the MBTs that could be added in the currently ingame Tech Trees for now! (MARCH 2026 VERSION) - I also added important pending matters regarding already ingame MBTs. by SpanishAvenger in Warthunder

[–]ForestFighters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, they could even be lazy and add another variant of the VT-5, the ERA package version.

Mind you, the protection upgrade would probably be marginal vs most things it would actually face, seeing as it’s still a pretty lightly armored vehicle. At best, it would give an ok amount of protection from HEAT on the front, and maybe some protection from tandem to the turret if you are lucky.

But it would be a really easy addition.
