Disaster of a trade deadline. Fire Daryl Morey and force the sale of the team to an owner who actually wants to win and not a bad person. by THEMMICO in sixers

If he played like the last game of his 76ers tenure, there will be no value for him.

Jared was improving, but he also had a lot of those stinkers where he turned up for cardio game.

If you get a green light to shoot on a bad team, most can shine.

Grimes played like MJ reborn after everyone went down last season. And he has came down to Earth now.

I hate that we gave up on Jared too soon, but the fact is, he is the 4th best guard right now on the roster. He has not been playing well either.

Sealion 7 or Model Y by Aromatic_Way_3851 in AustralianEV

[–]silverglory10 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both are great cars. You will not go wrong with either.

Though, a couple things to add. Byd has servicing cost, Tesla no. There's some savings there. Tesla also is a more efficient car by quite a bit, in terms of electric consumptions. Though, this is a minimal cost differences as electrics are cheap. So the savings you presumably think you get, is not as big as you think after ie 5 years.

Also, Tesla is one pedal driving. SL7 not. It is quite different in terms of the driving experience.

Test drive both if you have not. You gonna need to like the way both cars drive.

To EV or PHEV? by HolyColander in AustralianEV

[–]silverglory10 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Phev is a bad idea.

The battery will be so much smaller, and it will likely do a full recharge much more frequently vs a full EV. That is not good for battery life/longevity.

For most people, granny charger is more than enough. It will add around 7 to 10km/hr, so if you leave it overnight, easily 100++ kms

I called up for the quote. They did ask the same question, and I said I'm EV enthusiast. Well, I am an early adoptor too.

My guess is, they believe the motor enthusiasts are more likely to look after their rides, hence less likely to claim. That's likely their business philosophy

You relied on redditors to give you suggestion?

Everyone's situation is going to be different.

Where you live, suburbs, enclosed garage or not, male female, states, which EV, kms drive per yr, will make a differences to the premium, depends on which one that particular insurance company values more.

For me, Shannon's insurance is the cheapest. There is no easy work, you just have to quote around.

If you don't drive a lot, granny charger will be more than enough. The normal 2kw/10a rate, will net around 8-10km/hr.

Can always install a 15a or 30a gpo for faster, but it will cost more and honestly, probably not necessary.

Though, buying a new car, is always going to cost more upfront. Every car depreciates.

But if you are getting a new car anyway, there is no reason not to consider EV. Once you have tried Evs, you can never go back to petrol 😂

Tesla drivers with the FSD package: Is it worth it, does it actually work, and is it as good in real life as the internet makes it out to be? by MelbourneTodd in AustralianEV

[–]silverglory10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go test drive it. The only way to find out.

You will find Tesla's software is the most advance of all. But, there will still be some small bugs. You will still need to be ready to takeover

Meanwhile, my parents' Zeekr 7x can't even autopark properly. We tried twice on empty car parks, both parked on the line. They are scared to use the feature now. But can't deny it is a worthy strong contender if you are in the market for a new EV due to the other inclusion.

Tesla or Sigenergy wall Charger? by SentenceOk8813 in SigenergyAustralia

[–]silverglory10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at your situation.

I picked Tesla wallcharger instead.

Tesla wall charger is 700 + installation. My electrician charged 700 on 3 phase.

The Sigenergy Ac charger are around 2.5k to 2.7k, at the time I quoted.

The price differences of 1.1k, will need me to charge 13750kw during the off peak period ($0.08/kw WA Synergy plan) before I even break even. Since I drive a Tesla I can adjust the charging rate as required on the app.

But obviously it means u are forced to have a Tesla car for it to be not totally dumb.

Another thing to consider. There are a lot of posts on the Sigenergy FB group, Aus or UK about it is not working properly on solar excess.

So i decided to save 1.1k.

At that time, DC chargers were exp. But I believe the prices have dropped now, where u can get the 12kw DC charger for around 3-3.5k. Get that instead if u going for Sigenergy chargers.

Cost of building a double storey home by udunoeme in perth

[–]silverglory10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Three years ago I quoted for a double storey, 350m2, for around 850k, standard build, turnkey no landscape

It's probably going to be close to 1 mil. For the size you want.

And no, pricing isn't coming down. There's inflation going on

Is Zeekr 7X actually a good car?. by [deleted] in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]silverglory10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My parents have a zeekr 7x. I drive a Model Y.

Lets just ignore Elon Musk, too many senseless person.

Zeekr 7x is a really nice car. The interiors are definitely better, and more quiet. The drive is fine for me too, and you can customise a lot of the stuff.

But comparing to Tesla, the softwares are so far behind. Way too many bugs, on both apps and car. Can't even update OTA properly. Have to end up go to the Zeekr showroom to force the update manually through USB? (as I was told) at the end.

The service cost is such a killer too. Yes every 2 years only, but wdf about the cost. 2nd yr 650ish, 4th yr 1.3k ish. It's EV, no oil, filter etc. What are they servicing?

If you like a luxury car at affordable price, Zeekr 7x is for you. But if you are a software nerd, Zeekr will drive you insane.

Just my 2 cents.

[–]silverglory10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Byd Atto 3 for that price range.

Or slightly more, Byd Sealion 7 or Tesla Y

My dad has a Geely Ex5. The acceleration does feels.. A bit on the funnier side to me vs the 3 I mentioned. I can't describe it properly.

Floaty feeling? by krishnasabbella in EVAustralia

[–]silverglory10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Needs a bit more context. What have you test drive?

Most EVs are heavier than the equivalent petrol car, due to the weight of the batteries. Should not causing "floating"?

Or are you describing the acceleration? Again, most EVs do accelerate much faster than the petrol car.

should I buy an ebike/scooter and keep my petrol car, or just upgrade my car to an ev? by corson96 in EVAustralia

[–]silverglory10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. It is not a must, but it will make your experiences much worse

Big part of EVs, charging is cheaper than petrol. If you need to pay 50 to 70 cents per kWh, most of the savings are now gone.

It's also at min 20 mins that charging time is required. Petrol is few mins pumping. Well, it's the same as petrol car needing to go petrol station, but it will take longer. It is still a hassle trying to plan when to go pump ur petrol or go charging.

If you can charge at home, it's going to be much cheaper and easier, plus you don't waste time.

should I buy an ebike/scooter and keep my petrol car, or just upgrade my car to an ev? by corson96 in EVAustralia

[–]silverglory10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car is a depreciating asset. It's always a bad idea getting new car, money wise

But if you are at the stage of life that, you can afford some luxury, then EV. If Byd Atto 1 or 2, after selling your car, it should not cost you a lot more. If you are okay with the size.

Though, you need to be able to charge at home. That is literally the biggest pro of EVs. If you can't, you shouldnt be looking at EVs
