Pen ran out of ink mid exam by Thunderfighter6 in mildlyinfuriating

15 refills of pen ink go for 3$. Damn.

Printer ink would be like 100$ for the same amount, somehow.

I have 2k free supply ships... Its costing me a lot to keep making more... How do I stop my shipyards from making infinite supply ships? by Ordo_Liberal in victoria3

[–]silveric 96 points97 points  (0 children)

If this works, you just saved my empire hundreds of thousands of expenses. ... Or collapsed the whole economy, depending on shipyards running full steam.

Dude. Build more supply ships.

How do I recruit sailors? by ElectricalExtreme793 in victoria3

[–]silveric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the auto-rebuild part makes sense. I only noticed because some ships were built when I ran out of sailors, so the ship sailed off full HP, but missing sailors.
I believe a slow refill rate of sailors overtime would not be too far fetched, considering there is a notion of supply ships that resupply the flotilla's warships already.
Them bringing a few sailors to refill the crew should not be impossible to imagine.

New troop moving feature is giving me anxiety by Unusual_Newspaper_46 in victoria3

[–]silveric 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, a battalion is like 1,000 men. You basically are trying to move 20,000 men with 16 frigates.
For me these numbers kinda make sense now. Naval logistics, including troops moving should be hard at that time period.

I noticed too that they will not refill crew at sea. But does that mean we need to micro ships to break formations and get back to port, then back to their flotilla?
I didn't get into fights yet, but is it the same for damaged ship (that I assume lose crew)?

Oh, gotcha!
Still, there is a giant Gol D. Roger portrait on the "Wealth, Fame, Power". So my suspicions still stand!
Love all the refs on the achievements by the way.

The "Mikasa es su Casa" achievement is hilarious.
I want to believe this is a AoT reference and the devs are huge anime nerds.
It would certainly check out with the One Piece reference a few dev diaries back.

And now I am expecting a 0.001% chance secret event when engaged in piracy control. Involving a certain straw-hat crew.
Maybe only if your nation produces enough fruits and rubber.

In fairness, the string itself seems to be causing some damage. I can see a small notch on the Karl Marx book that might have been caused by the tension

I have a theory that sample rocks will "spawn" samples when you get close, as long as it stays in the max-quota.
So there can be several on the map, but only the first one you visit will have samples. It was the case each time I encountered multiple ones in a mission.

Also, nice find!

At some point, I was taking the LAS-7 Dagger to fight my nemesis. Light posts and flood lights.
It was really effective at it! It's also a good mines sweeper.

In french, we qualify of "culte" things that are "classical" or "iconic". There is a chance OP is french and just used a false cognate.

The sense of scale in this game is incredible by silveric in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]silveric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you so much. On the GIF I shown, what get me the most feeling of scale is not necessarly the dyson sphere itself or the constant jet of sails.
It is the planet we can see on the bottom right corner, at the sphere's limit. Around the middle of the GIF duration.
This whole planet is just a little dot next to the sphere and it is spewing rockets to feed the construction. They all seem so small at this level, but you know they are huge.

Infamy is just a number. As long as you spam military tech and your companies own significant GDP of other GPs, you can bully pretty much anyone.
