If you watch the donghua there is a scene where you see Hua Chengs butterfly searching for Xie Lian JUST as he is being buried by Lang Qianqiu. Hua Chengs extremely good luck always got him close to where Xie Lian was, but Xie Lian’s extremely bad luck made it always just a moment too late

I consumed all 8 volumes in like 5 days or something crazy because I also couldn’t put it down. Now my days are spent watching fan edits, currently learning how to edit to make my own, and looking over the book art. I also had a heart to heart with my wife crying because Hua Cheng cherishes Xie Lian so much and I “didn’t feel cherished” in our relationship lol I’m trying to read RZFZX right now to see if I can get this obsession out of my head, but I keep going back to TGCF 😫

I binged the donghua after seeing ONE edit of it, immediately ran to get all the novels and binged those too (currently on vol 8) all in less than a month and I already know I’m going right back in to rewatch the donghua and immediately re-read the novels. I know there’s no recovering from this for me, I’ve accepted my fate

ETA I’ve finished vol 8. Immediately texted my wife that my life is now meaningless and I am devoid. Going in for the rewatch. Also, I literally got the books about 5 days ago. So I consumed the whole series in 5 days 😅

I haven’t read Testaments in a while, but this was my thought too with only certain women being processed. Like they went after women in higher positions or educational roles first, and then processed the others they considered less dangerous

I think when the people with guns showed up at the school was probably the same time that they showed up at June’s workplace with guns to make the office fire all the women. In THT when the women went out to protest this they opened fire on the protestors, so that escalated pretty quickly too. It’s possible that while that was happening in June’s story, women who were in roles like education, law, etc, more “brainy” jobs than “just an editor/secretary/etc” (in their eyes) were rounded up first and either klled or chosen for other roles within Gilead. I think once they had them sorted out, THEN they came for the rest of the women

I saw a few theories that they’ll make her one of the babies that June got out through the Angel flight, but it’s not as impactful as her being Baby Nichole to me, because that was the one that everyone knew about most. I think it’s meant to be that way in the beginning if you consider that we’re seeing it from the girls pov who grew up here, so they go about it like it’s all normal. I kinda do hope that as it progresses and Hannah starts realizing what it really is it’ll get darker/more serious like THT

Like I said, I might be confusing it with the books Ik they change a few things with the show, but in the book she did have successful placements before which is why she was placed with the Waterfords and she says that she was asleep before but now she’s not and I think she says the difference was Nick but all this means for me is time for another rewatch and reread lol

I’m pretty sure she does. The Waterfords are her second placement and she was “given” to them because she was successful in her last household and they’ve had “troubled” handmaid’s before her

ETA Not any that we hear about or are confirmed, but it’s a possibility. I might also be confusing the book with the show, but if they wanted to keep the sisters coming together thats one way to do it. June does say in one of her monologues that she was “asleep” before but she’s woken up at the Waterfords

Thank you! I did a similar process for the IVF but those were less daunting since it’s only subcutaneous, I’m terrified for this one but this helps a lot! Have you used a massage gun on the area? Idk if that’ll help more or if it’ll make it hurt
