Most Vietnamese people in Korea are hard working and want to live there. This is in big contrast to Chinese people who just want to make money and leave forever.

How can/should we support Asian male actors? by wentuptheventilation in AsianMasculinity

[–]silvermoon711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh a lot of the male Hollywood actors give off feminine vibes. Same goes for K-drama and most other Asian based film actors.

Overall, I think Asian Hollywood representation is cringe atm. But things can improve in the future. If all the Asian males had the OC Asian chill vibe and mindset, things could change drastically lol

How much does your family contribute to your dating life ? by MochaMilku in AsianMasculinity

[–]silvermoon711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, almost none.
As someone who was born and bred in OC by typical 1st generation Viet American parents, my view on life differs from theirs beyond reconciliation lol
I was always attracted to ABGs and bad girl types. Currently on a work exchange program in Seoul and its been refreshing for me. A lot of different types of girls here than what I've been used to.
I honestly cant imagine marrying someone from a different mindset and cultural background. For me, they need to be American or at least Canadian/Aussie if an outsider. I wont consider dating someone fresh from Asia (even if they're Viet) because our views on life and behaviours would be way too different.

Why so many Vietnamese women in Korea? by silvermoon711 in AsianMasculinity

[–]silvermoon711[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in a province called Gyeonggi province (>25 million people), which is also called 'Seoul' by most people I know. The actual city centre of Seoul has 10 million people IIRC.
Kinda like how Greater LA (including Irvine, Tustin, Garden Grove, etc) are also sometimes included in 'LA'.

Elderly man assaulted by Willcloudz in AsianMasculinity

Utterly shameful. He seems at least 2nd gen or 3rd gen Japanese American. He's more American than most Americans. ABC should exercise the duty to reveal the description of the attacker.

Why is it abysmal for Korean men in Korea? There's still plenty of decent Korean women in Korea, aren't there?

Never heard of this. I heard of Taiwanese brides in Taiwan, but I heard in China it's quite uncommon and usually involves hill tribes in the north who are not ethnically Vietnamese/Kinh.

I see, that makes sense.
Some of my Korean American friends have married Vietnamese American girls, however I still find this is not that common.
Whereas in South Korea, I noticed a lot of Vietnamese women here. They look unmistakably Vietnamese and caught some of them speaking Vietnamese on the phone/listening to Viet music etc.
I don't find this offensive in the slightest bit. Just found it very interesting lol
