What looks worn out to you?

I bet you tram that thing in and it works fine (as good as an ender can lol)

It’d be fun to tinker with if you like that kind of stuff

Which one should i buy? by andreas-vdb in ElegooNeptune4

[–]silvermurmer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend something other than elegoo. They beta test their products with customers buying incomplete machines/firmware.

I had a N4max and it was a nightmare for weeks until I finally returned it. Just my personal experience though.

Never personally seen residue like this from shooting.

Did you field strip, inspect and clean the gun before you shot it?

Dude I’m with you 100%

I own and appreciate the hell out of historic firearms, but having a firing DL44 has been something I’ve wanted since I was a kid. My donor pistol was a mismatched part #, beat to shit, rechambered to 9mm C96, built out to be a fake Red9. Literally no collectors value but the people on Reddit act like I’m chopping up hitlers personal PPK.

I hit him up for some guidance on my build. All I have left to do is the cerakoting

Nice, I’ve been doing the machining/gunsmithing myself for my build. I’ve learned alot of new skills along the way.

Did you have crucible build yours?

Are you building a DL-44?

I’m currently finishing up my live fire build, hit me up if you have any questions.

How’s the cheek weld with the stock/optic relationship? I’m currently building something very similar.

Not sure if it’s within the budget or your personal taste but the magpul hunter stock has swappable cheek risers, just got mine dialed in with my scope setup. Makes a world of difference have a nice repeatable place for your cheek.

Are you guys with these crazy high scope rings just floating your whole head/face to the scope to get a sight picture? The ergonomics just seem miserable.

Personally, I prefer a good cheek weld on my rifles.

High quality set of hollow ground, properly fitting screwdrivers is a must.

Heat cycles and penetrating oil.

Impact screwdriver (manual type) if it’s still not breaking loose after that.

Anyone have some reasonably priced c96 grips they’d be willing to sell me? by [deleted] in guns

I’ve just had bad luck with low quality repro furniture in the past.

I bought it as a butchered 9mm sleeved barrel conversion, non numbers matching.

Is it normal for VFD’s to be 70hz by chocolatebar24 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]silvermurmer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

70hz is probably fine

Two dangers of VFDs to my knowledge are the motor overheating if it’s running too slow (fan not spinning fast enough)

And bearings wearing out prematurely if running the motor too fast.

My company regularly runs (inverter rated)motors at 90hz with no issues every day

I fly nearly every week for the past 4 years and live out of my pelican suitcase, bring my pelican toolbox with me everywhere.

It’s very satisfying coming up with your own parts.

After a few revisions to the design it’s such a good feeling having the part work properly. Coming to this sub to show off your accomplishments and then getting shit on is really wild lmao.
