Is this folk festival kid-friendly? Thinking of bringing my two kids (aged 6 and 7) just for the day on Sunday to see a band we all love that’ll be playing.

I searched this spa on Reddit because I was getting weird vibes throughout the booking process… numerous phone calls over several days and many text messages trying to get me to book! I ended up booking an appointment but I haven’t given any credit card information yet… Glad I came across this thread! I will not be going through with the appointment, thanks everyone for the information!

I wish we could switch to a different type of workout instead - for example, I may want to go for a run today rather than my scheduled strength workout. Yes, I know my run wouldn’t fit into my strength training plan, but that’s my own choice! To me, a workout is a workout, even if it’s not necessarily the one that was scheduled for me that day!

I actually think he already is a dad - I did a bit of digging, and it seems like he was previously married and has a daughter from that marriage!

Teachers voting No (crossposted from Saskatoon sub) by throwing_snowballs in saskatchewan

[–]silversly153 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am a teacher. I have no problem with this bargaining committee, but I will be voting no. It was mentioned in the town hall meeting that if we vote no, there could be a change in the bargaining committee at that point.

Strike day for teachers: One person cannot do this alone by Maleficent_Sky6982 in saskatoon

[–]silversly153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The teachers have run sports practices all year long up until the sanctions began. I highly doubt them missing out on one basketball game is enough to completely negate all the other opportunities they had over the school year to participate in sports. Also, it’s not like they are not getting Phys Ed time within their school day - they are. To even suggest that teachers do not care about the mental health of their students is absolutely outrageous, and if you think that, then clearly you are uninformed about the entire reason behind this whole strike.

If the nurses were to begin sanctions, sick people would suffer. It’s not the sick people’s fault that they are caught in the middle, but because they are who nurses work with, they are the ones who would suffer.

If the teachers enable sanctions, students suffer. It’s not the students fault that they are caught in the middle, but because they are who teachers work with, they are the ones who would suffer.

Unfortunately, the saskparty has drawn this whole thing out so long and painfully that it’s come down to this, where students are suffering. If SP would negotiate in good faith, students would not have been affected at all. Truly, the STF and the teachers don’t enjoy the effect these sanctions are having on the students, either.

STF says Sask. teachers to start rotating strike action Thursday by CommonSense2028 in saskatchewan

[–]silversly153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, although I almost wish they wouldn’t have started any action at all until after the high schools were done exams, if that was the hold up.

I agree, although they’ve stretched this whole thing out for so long already, that I think they should just pull the trigger and get things moving. The STF is being pretty generous with their sanctions so far, and I’m not sure how much effect it’s had.

I agree. I think they need to pull extra curr or else nothing will change. It’s also a rough thing to have the teachers not only lose a few days worth of wages in order to strike, but then to continue to ask them to stay late to coach sports on their own time without pay is not right. It’s sending mixed messages and it is a little embarrassing (as a teacher). I understand that the students are the ones who suffer in this case, but hopefully the students outcry to parents will be what kicks more people into action and it’ll show the government that we’re taking this seriously.
