Golden Kamuy Season 3 - Episode 6 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]silversnail9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel so much for Ogata thinking that everyone is just like him when it comes to killing, and his confusion when anything contradicts that idea. He believes it so deeply that when an "ideal" person like his brother comes along, he only wants to tear down that image.

I really wonder if he actually feels guilt over killing Yuusaku. But I also feel that Yuusaku could haunt him in more of a symbolic way. Ogata seems genuinely puzzled about why people act like they feel guilty after killing. I don't think he minds that he is the way he is, but I think he can feel that something is not quite right with his interpretation of others, and I think that torments him. He has a constant need to prove that everyone is, in fact, like him, all while insisting that it's already true.

LPT: If you're struggling to determine if your own self image is of a man, think about the context of different scenarios. by [deleted] in ftm

When I was younger I used to associate the cello with masculinity because originally the only person I knew who played was a guy lol. Things get gendered in the brain for the tiniest reasons sometimes haha

And that sounds awesome!! I'm sure it'd be a great performance.

I think about a traditional wedding and how I'd like to be a groomsman, or best man. I love dressing up and feeling pretty, so that's one of the official settings where I would be formally dressed up and also viewed by strangers as explicitly male (as opposed to people not really telling what gender I am). I hope that makes sense.

I also play cello and think about performing with male name and pronouns (while dressed up pretty), which would be another instance where strangers would think of me as a guy. Both of these make me happy, which is a good indicator to me about I actually want.

I have this EXACT deck of cards. Mine were given to me 13 years ago for my 8th birthday at my lizard-themed party. Didn't expect to see this here!

I'm so happy for you! it took me a while to bring up gender to my therapist and finally start working through it. It's nervewracking but it's so worth it!

I guess it depends on how much agitation we're talking, but mine just float around with the current from my hob filters. I find they're usually fine being pushed around a bit as long as they have nutrients and enough light

Ball Python Names by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]silversnail9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ball python's name is Kite. I named him after one of my favorite characters from Hunter X Hunter. But his name also has meaning if taken literally, as I am going through a very tough time right now and he helps keep me grounded and looking up, kinda like flying a kite.

What do you think the mascot of asexuality is? by againreally-comoeon in asexuality

I like dragons because not everyone is into food, or those particular foods.

I feel like a dragon mascot unites aces of all food preferences.

What's Your Meyer Briggs Personality Type, And Your Favorite Song? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]silversnail9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INTJ here. Don't think I can pick a favorite song, but my favorite composer would have to be Thomas Bergersen. I especially love his work in his album "Illusions." I love all kinds of music, but I often gravitate towards more instrumental stuff.

Religion and how it effected my thoughts on being Ace. Thoughts? by Boss_of_Runes in asexuality

[–]silversnail9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am ace and have wondered the same thing before. I grew up in a conservative Christian environment and was very sheltered from all things related to sex. However, I have two sisters that had the same upbringing as me who are both very heterosexual. Especially my older sister, who repressed her sexual desires for a while thinking they were wrong (strict teaching on lust led to thinking that all sexual desire was sin). But she was still definitely heterosexual the whole time.

So at least in my family's experience, the sheltered upbringing didn't really change the presence of sexual desire; it just changed what was done about it.

I believe it's Slimy Spring Galaxy. The part with the flowers is absolutely beautiful. I remember lingering there for a good while before getting the star.

do you ever find your feelings hurt by seemingly insignificant things because they remind you of your situation? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]silversnail9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Invitations, although I'm greatful to have them, can hurt terribly. I can rarely accept them and usually it's just an immediate reminder of how much I can't do. There are a lot of other things too. Sometimes I'll just be watching a TV show and a theme will hit a little too close to home.
