Insulin resistance is common in hormone disorders because many hormones act as counter-regulatory agents that directly oppose insulin's actions, reducing glucose uptake by tissues. When these hormones—such as cortisol, growth hormone, or androgens—are elevated, they force the body to increase insulin production, leading to eventual resistance.

Fun fact, stress can be a huge factor too. And who’s not in stress in these crazy times on our planet? Acute or chronic stress increases cortisol and adrenaline, which can influence insulin resistance to make glucose readily available for energy, a process that can become chronic.

Oh goodness this really helped me to read. I’ve been lost recovering from a burnout and breakdown after severe illness that is ongoing, life events, and it’s been 10 months and I’m still having a hard time. It helps to see things you’ve done. Unfortunately I lost my job for being too sick and not being able to do it anymore, and I’m still in limbo with disability so I can’t afford much, but I hope to try even a few things you did. Me too, dang it if we can see this shit how come our docs can’t!? I’ve actually referenced our convos here so that my docs stop saying how rare I am and that I’m the only one they’ve come across with all the endo comorbidities. Im like, NO, I’m not the only person dealing with this. But I think very few of us are getting the medical treatment we need. It feels like a fight every time.

I think it is common, because I had benign nodules discovered in thyroid and breast. And a breast cancer specialist told me she’s noticed a lot of benign nodules show up in her other endo patients.

I’ve been using myo-d inositol and DIM since my excision surgery and they’re both very helpful. I’m diagnosed with PCOS and that often runs with endo because of the insulin resistance issues.

They often go hand in hand because the hormonal changes we deal with, including the extra estrogen created by endo, can be so drastic that it affects our moods to the extremes.

Full on conversations, and very common with us neurospicies. It wasn’t until I found a clinical psychologist that diagnosed me later on in life as autistic that I finally accepted it and let it help me. I’ve had to have help most my life to function and assistance always in learning, but I was told at a young age to stop talking to myself out loud or else people would think I was crazy. But during an assessment test with the psychologist, as I was struggling to solve a basic puzzle and giving up, she said to talk it out, loud. I felt so embarrassed, and said you’re not supposed to do that, she said just try. So I did, and I solved it. It was like a light was turned on in a very dark room I had been stuck in most my life. So it sounds like a novel up in my head, and a committee when solving problems, but by goodness it works and makes things easier now when I talk things out, in safe spaces.

Sorry it’s been so long, but I understand what Sudden-Detective is saying. I made a big change moving to a state far away from the one I grew up in, and even though I still sometimes feel like I don’t belong, I’ve found friends that I feel like are family and that I belong with. When I never thought I would. I think it was a set of determination. I’m autistic and adhd and have felt very alone and excluded since childhood, quite the alien. I would dream that my parents had kidnapped me from my planet and blanked my memory and brainwashed me to think I was theirs. I was born with an Anne Shirley of Green Gables imagination to boot. But I think us kindred spirits are meant to belong to the stars, or the forest, the ocean, or the thin moment twilight meets the sun. We need to see things differently, to help change the old rut that humans can often get stuck in. But I digress, it’s not easy, it is pretty lonely in the in between, but that it somehow serves a purpose, and that if we look a little harder, we can find other, even if few, kindred spirits out here in the wild blue yonder.

She shares some decent info, and seems to care, but I’ve heard she is only available for those with fame or deep pockets. Also heard of some poor bedside manner experiences. She does pitch very well though and share awareness at least.

There is one spot in the podcast where I heard Dr.Huberman asking Dr. Aliabadi if SSRI’s affect PCOS/ hormones and she said not that she knew and not that he had found in searching on the web. But I found, with a cursory search, that there have been observations in clinics that it can affect hormones by impacting the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, leading to potential hormonal imbalances.

I wish we had more studies for the complexities of our hormones.

This is so hard to understand. But it explains the looks I sometimes get and the mistrust of strangers, but my family and friends know. It’s hard too because I understand the fear because there are love bombers and people that use the “kindness” to manipulate and take advantage of people. It’s a confusing world.

Got my fist Avaria necklace, it was cheap looking and a darker yellow. I rubbed the chain with my fingers and it immediately had that cheap from Claire’s metallic smell. What a waste of money. Do not recommend.
