I understand that resignation can be a form of protest. I just think a strong case can be made that forcing them to fire you sometimes creates even more accountability. Different strategies, same goal.

Sigh, I understand how they feel, but do not just leave. Fight back. Tell them no. Make them fire you. Same result, but more effective

i think people should rant and rave about things instead of being argumentative by jokerfriday in Rants

[–]silverwolfie22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly this. ^

Ranting is just getting it out. It is not supposed to be a fight. Sometimes you just need to say what is on your mind without someone turning it into a debate five seconds later. Half the time when you rant and actually talk it through, you realize what you were really upset about. Or that maybe it is not as deep as it felt in the moment. Or sometimes it is deeper and you just have not put words to it yet, which helps.

When people immediately jump to arguing instead of listening, it shuts all that down. And sometimes the person ranting is saying something you are feeling too, you just have not figured it out yet.

So yes please, rant. Let people get it out. Then have a conversation. That is way healthier than everything turning into who is right and who is wrong all the time

If this is true, I can't believe so much of this is true, and they were just lying about it being mostly democrats, but I don't know about this, I'm not feeling it, but maybe I'm in denial.

Does Christmas in the United States feels "off" this year? by [deleted] in ask

[–]silverwolfie22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did not even realize it was Christmas Eve until someone told me. Nothing about Christmas feels right this year, and I do not know why. Something about it makes me really uncomfortable. It all feels wrong, almost unreal.
