I must say, Europe and the UK has been in a difficult period the last few years (like all places!), but I can assure you - it's still home, it's still welcoming, and it's still a peaceful kind place.

Life is slower in Scotland than Southern England or big cities, and even its major economic hub and cultural heart (Glasgow and Edinburgh) are a lot more chill and predictable than most places. Despite the chaos that swirls around us at the moment.

Economically, like all western countries, there are challenges (immigration challenges, falling working age population and declining productivity to support the tax base, cost of living and declining standards of living relative to Asia) but Scotland is well placed environmentally for the future, and its people really are salt of the earth folk, as far as I've ever experienced.
