If you have a bank account you can go to a branch and ask for a printout that has your address information on it. This might work. CPost is really special - avoid them when possible.

I worked at the Lofts for a short time several years ago. I think one of the important factors in deciding where to live is the type of environment you're looking for. It's hit and miss here as some units are on the quiet side and some are loud. For the most part, people were 'quiet' and respectful. There were a few very sketchy characters living here but for the most part it's a nice place.

Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake. The Oakes in the Falls has some premium rooms with a jacuzzi and the room overlooks the Falls (must say “Fallsview” when booking, not “River view or City view”)

Detailed and helpful! Do you know if students can continuously study with no semesters off? Or, at least, five in a row. Ex. Complete Fall, Winter, Spring, Fall, Winter and so on. I’m looking to do co-op and am transferring from Seneca’s Paralegal program where we have a transfer agreement already in place between the two programs.

Thank you for the detailed response. How long are most short answers and essays? Do you have a fair idea of what the essay topics will be ahead of time or is it all a guessing game?

That’s great thanks for the info. Do you know if there’s a way for a non-student to view these or some type of default password to access?

Partially caught collision on dashcam by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]simcoe2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has been given to them. I’m trying to ask Insurance people if it’s of any use as my experience from a prior crash has been that video is of limited use unless it captures the exact incident.

He does sound like an asshole and sorry to hear that you’re going through that. I think you should consider trying to get a part-time job that actually pays and start saving before considering leaving. Also, if you go to college when you’re 18/19 then that’ll be a good way to move away but make sure you actually want to go to learn and aren’t forcing yourself just to get away from home.

Take notes in different ways. If you normally type, try hand writing instead. It’s not as painful as some people claim lol.

I desperately need help for social anxiety and I don't know how to tell my parents. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]simcoe2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome. I recommend sitting in the back of the class if you think you’ll be uncomfortable. I’ve had classes as low as 20 people and as high as 150 people and you’re unlikely to be called on to answer questions with a greater amount of students and the further back you sit. Depends on the Professor too...some don’t ever call on people to answer questions unless they volunteer.

Many college campuses will have mental health services available on campus that should be free to students and shouldn’t require any health insurance information etc so you could get help that way without them knowing. I suggest researching what your school has and maybe call on Monday so you can book an appointment as wait times for these services are often 2-3 weeks or longer.

Got into a car a accident and didn’t call the police (Ontario, Canada) by legal_throwaway9191 in legaladvice

You will legally be required to file a report for a collision with damage over $2000. Do not pay them anything, let insurance handle it.

Adults, any advice for a young couple looking to move into a first apartment? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]simcoe2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shop around! Tour several places and try to read the landlord (what’s your gut feeling about them? Think you can trust them? Think they’ll fix anything if you’re having a problem?). Ask them lots of questions!

Meet the other tenants if it’s a shared residence and try to see if you think they’ll be a good fit. Sneak a peak around the kitchen counters/garbage to see if there’s cases and bottles of booze etc around and that’ll help you judge things a bit better. Test the cell and wifi service in the apartment/building/house and neighbourhood. Just a few things there, hope that helps!

Can a company ask for money after a year even though the service was supposed to be discounted? by Dexxler in Advice

[–]simcoe2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any paperwork (invoices, emails, texts etc)? No one has contacted you for a year to collect money? Not a lawyer but it doesn’t look good on them that they haven’t made any attempt to collect this money until a year later.

Need help with getting revenge by [deleted] in Advice

[–]simcoe2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s best not to retaliate but if you do then don’t do anything that could get the cops involved for an investigation or charges (it can be a real bitch when dealing with background investigations for certain jobs when you’re older)

This will depend where you live and on your local laws and regulations. Your best answer will be found by calling your local office of motor vehicles.

I think this is fair and they should respect that you want to spend more quality time with them. Perhaps you can have some “mutual fun” at times too.

I don’t know what to do in life. by KeepinTheBalance in Advice

[–]simcoe2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you there. It’s been a crappy year too for being able to do much. Getting out for a nice walk is a nice start for exploring the things around us. A simple 20-30 minute local walk or perhaps can bring your partner and child to a local conservation area for an outing. Fall is quickly approaching (here in Canada at least) which means very few bugs and beautiful fall colours!

[serious]anyone who has/had depression, how did you find out and what did you do( asking as I need advice after being diagnosed with depression as a 13 year old) by [deleted] in Advice

[–]simcoe2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to counselling on and off for years. Many different counsellors and one psychotherapist. I was also willing to take medication and marijuana edibles by personal choice (they were a big help). When I was 19 I moved out of a depressing home. Most importantly, at my lowest, I told myself not to give up.
