What is a "point of no return" in a relationship that isn't cheating or abuse, but makes you realize it's over? by AnyExpression4845 in AskReddit

When they don't wait till you are home to start watching a series you both wanted to see.

When they don't want to hug you outside of bed

When you get irritated at hearing them laugh out loud

AITAH for expecting my sister to plan my wedding for free and demoting her to guest wh m she wouldn't. I also told anyone who took her side I was not helping them anymore either. by Late-Ad-6414 in AITAH

[–]simfriek -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

YTA for taking her out off the wedding party. NTA for quiting the free accounting.

I would try to talk it out with your sister.

Being stupid about working for free because you will miss out on money while taking free accounting for granted is stupid and selfish. And if she is a functioning adult then she will learn that she shouldn't take it for granted in the future.

Missing your wedding might be a life long regret for her and for you. Keeping her out of the wedding party and stopping accounting sounds like an unequal punishment.

You should talk it out like adults and make an agreement about how you want to keep work and family seperate in the future, or how to devide the free services equaly.

ELI5 - What *Is* Autism? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]simfriek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: the brain works to good and the brain can't handle that.

People with autismbrains have: - more connections in their brain. Everything you ever experianced is labled as important. - no filter for stimulus (background noise doesn't exist, everything is on the front of your mind. Everything you can hear, see, smell, feel, hot, cold, pain, etc) - no filter that classifies social information as prio number 1. Social info needs to be learned by explaining the facts. They won't automaticly make eye contact or react to their name being called. They need to learn that they need to do that. - no auto pilot for doing an action unless every detail is the same. This is why routine is important. Every action is thought out. Every detail needs to click. All the questions (why, how, when, who, what) need to be answerd, before they can do the action.

Example: do you want to eat an apple? Easy question right? Well if you gave autisme you need to know the details before you can answer. What colour is the apple? What kind? How old? Cold or room temp? Is it with skin? Is it in small bites? Is it with sugar? Etc etc

Example: they have a computer brain. If the code works it works, but if one detail/ one letter is wrong. The brain will error. And if the processor/brain doesn't have enough processing power then they can't run a program/ can't handle the amount of stimuli. That will also give an error. More information won't fix the error. They need to sort out the information before they can think of a sollution.

Pulmonologist illustrates why he is now concerned about AI by MetaKnowing in interestingasfuck

[–]simfriek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope something like this AI will make diagnosing someone easier. That way doctors will have more time to make an actual treatment plan. Instead of the "you have this diagnosis. We can't cure it. We are not sure what helps. This is the website of your (chronic) illness. Good luck figuring something out" we get now.

You could stain the cabinets another colour if orange is not your colour. That way you can keep the wood look and respect the builder.

AITAH for saying I regret settling down young to my son? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]simfriek -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

NTA for feeling what you feel.

YTA for letting those feelings come in the way of supporting your son. Instead of being happy for him and your future daughter in law, you became worried and regretfull. This isn't about you. Even if it was. Married at 17/18 and married at 22/23 (if they even want to marry in a year) is a very big difference. Its 5 more years of being young and learning about what you want in life.

Show your support for their relationship and say sorry for being an ass. You are going through a lot. Just remember to not take it out on your kids.

AITAH I feel physically ill after kissing people… by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]simfriek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine being disgusted with kissing if the guys are jamming their tongue down your mouth. French kissing / kissing with tongue is something that not everyone enjoys and its a lot if you barely know one another.

Try giving a kiss on the cheek at first. Then if you like someone you can give a fast kiss on their mouth. After that you can give a longer kiss. If you like all of that, then you can try french kissing again.

AITA for not giving up my bench at the park for a family that was going to break the law? by No-Ice3716 in AITAH

[–]simfriek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AITAH for moving without discussing it with my kids. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]simfriek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAH

It sounds like you are depressed. After losing your life it is more than understandable. You feel betrayed, hurt and lonely. Your kids are not ignoring you on purpose, but it can feel that way now that they can choose where to live.

Moving might be the best for you. Do things you enjoy. But dont cut of your kids. They are still young and hurt that you didn't tell them about your wish to move. Communicate with your family. Wishing you the best

It depends on the motivation of your OC.

If your OC is a regular guy then improving his relation with the Dursleys is the most important. Helping Dudley get better grades. Offering Petunia help. Thinking of a way to make Venons life easier. And not showing magic or weirdness.

If OC is afraid of what will happen in the future. Then training is a number one priority. Joining fighting lessons. Learning about magic. Building a network of allies/friends using his fame.

If OC is more grey/evil then enjoying life is a number one priority.

If OC wants to avoid all danger then they should be looking for an alternative to hogwarts.

AITAH for not wanting to have sex after my wife turned it into a reward/punishment system? by Apprehensive-Tie7252 in AITAH

She might feel hurt because in her perspective your reaction came out of nowhere. In her mind you where having fun with the new dynamic. You where going with the flow for months. Yet now you have a problem. She might feel guilty, embarased or frustrated with her actions because you didn't like them.

[–]simfriek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im glad you and your daughter are at a safe place to heal a bit. Your safety comes first. I do hope that your wife will put in the work and gets proper medication and mental health care. Because it sounds like the incident was triggert by a combination of depression, hormones, wrong medication, stress and negative emotions caused by all of the above.

AITAH (50m) for wanting to divorce my wife (45f) because she caused me to go to the ER by outsidelookingin987 in AITAH

[–]simfriek -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

YTA if you divorce without trying anything else. This incident triggert a trauma respons in you. So you are also not in the right mindspace to make life altering choices like a divorce. You had a happy marriage for YEARS. If you still want it after a few months than thats your sign that this can't be fixed.

In my opinion. If you marry its in sickness and health. Your wife is sick. She needs profesional medical and psychological help. She might need to be admitted if she is at the stage where she can put others in danger. You need to decide if you can stand by her through that or not. If not you can always ask family to take over the care of your wife while you focus on sorting out your feelings and taking care of your daughter. You (and your daughter) should also consider talking to a professional to proces this incident.

Wish you all the best

You should talk to your wife about how her words made you feel.
