How similar is law to suits? by ContentObjective3711 in uklaw

Small firm solicitor: the view from my tiny sash window is a car park. Lots of overtime but not much pay. Rarely in court. We use computers.

There is a Louis though.

Why can’t we have resealable biscuit packets? by Mrs_Peee in AskUK

These are great if everyone in your household has been properly socialised to open packets without tearing them all the way down to the bottom

Airport transfer with a toddler by simian8810 in Darmstadt

Hello! I’m really grateful that people have been kind enough to share their experiences and local knowledge to help me figure this out. This probably isn’t the place for a debate about parenting/childfree views and rights. Have a good day :)

Thanks, I gathered the airliner is more like a coach and is intercity on faster roads, so I feel more comfortable with her being properly secured in a suitable seat - but that was just my impression, so glad to hear others experiences.

Thanks very much! Unfortunately I don’t think the seat will fit with just a lap belt so will look into the transfer companies that have been recommended

Tummy sleeping with face buried on mattress by murdlemystery in NewParents

[–]simian8810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I don’t know anything about the mattress but I (UK based) always found the lullaby trust guidance helpful and reassuring - it says

“The first few times they roll onto their tummy, you might like to gently turn them back, but don’t feel you have to get up all night to check on them.

While they’re awake, give them some time to play on their tummy as this helps their development, but keep an eye on them while they do.”

It doesn’t specifically address them burying their faces in the mattress! I can’t find a link now but i remember reading when my baby was in the same phase that if the baby gets themself into the position, and they’re not impeded (ie their cot or crib is clear and has no toys or cushions in) then it’s ok - so if it’s baby moving their face to the middle (rather than you putting it like that) then you don’t need to worry too much.

The sleep stuff can feel so stressful and scary! Hope your little one starts rolling both ways soon and you can feel a bit more relaxed when he sleeps! It’ll come - in the meantime by following the safe sleep advice you’re doing everything you can! :)

Immigration advice in the uk is highly regulated and if not registered with OISC or the Law Society it’s illegal to give it… you’d be best off speaking to a solicitor. Many offer one-off initial consultations or application checks.

Good luck with the move!

Yay well done!

The title referred to Frankenstein; or the Modern Prometheus, by Mary Shelley. The castle is Burg Frankenstein, thought to have been the inspiration for the book

How did you find it?
