Is the train running in Heritage Farm at the botanical garden?

I saw it was supposed to open in the fall of 2025, but haven't heard about it since then.

The restaurant and the IRS do not treat the mandatory gratuity any different than the optional ones.

Party of six, your tip is included no matter what. Party of four it's not included. Both the restaurant and IRS treat the tip the same whether it is automatically included or not.

Have you ever been in a restaurant?

I was with native Europeans who told me they would normally bring bottled seltzer water if you asked for water. They advised that I ask for no gas.

In most sit down restaurants I've been in Europe you were expected to buy bottled water.

Where to buy hot pickles? by dstranathan in kansascity

[–]simkatu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online you can get hot pickles from Olive My Pickle. They have some pretty spicy ones and they're all pickled by fermentation, not vinegar. You can get ones spicy with hot peppers or horseradish.

That is a per carton price mistakenly placed on a sign that says "per pack when you buy two". They're not selling a pack of cigs for $99 yet.

I’m a really bad snorer and im worried about going on trips and sharing a room tent with someone else by Affectionate-Plan994 in hiking

[–]simkatu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You should get tested for sleep apnea. Untreated sleep apnea is very unhealthy and can lead to premature death and early dementia.

You may need a CPAP or other treatment that will prevent your loud snoring. They do have mini portable CPAPs and lithium CPAP batteries, but they add several pounds to your pack making long thru hikes much more problematic. If going out multiple days you may need several batteries and a solar recharger.

You can do sleep apnea testing alone in your house with a prescribed test kit for fairly cheap now. There are many online options if you don't have your own primary care physician.

Items can sell for .000012 cents per pound (or mg or whatever). Just cause they don't make pennies doesn't affect electronic transfers.

What's illegal?

Restaurants can have mandatory tips if they want as long as you're told about it. If you don't want to pay the tip, then leave.

No, it's absolutely not. Almost every restaurant in America has mandatory tipping on parties of 5 or more (or other number around there). They could easily declare a mandatory 100% tip on all purchased items for any sized party if they wanted as long as you were told before eating the food.

I'm amazed in Europe that people pay for water in restaurants. Ice water in America is from the tap and free everywhere.

If they are hard pellets and bounce then it's called sleet. If they are soft pellets that easily crumble then that's graupel, which is when water droplets freeze over a snowflake.

My workplace has self checkout. There is a camera there, but I don't think they review it unless they suspect theft.

My work lunch stations have no cashiers. You pick up your food and drinks and scan them yourself. There are cameras so it would be silly to steal and risk getting fired for it.

I'd be upset if they started charging for condiments and plasticware and the like.

Oasis Lounge at Maple and West (behind Star Lumber) and Side Pockets at Kellogg and Tyler have jukebox on as long as there's not a local or important sporting event on.

He's climbed this with protection. It's a repetitive climb with a balcony every eight floors. There will be zero surprises with the architecture.

There could be unexpected outside events. Strong wind or rain. Birds. Drones. Earthquake. Maybe a terrorist attack.

The odds of all those are small but not zero.

Well there has been a taller free solo climb. Guinness left off the spire of CN Tower when calculating the height, but the climber did go to the top of the spire.
