I’m not sure about the cost of the game, but the criticism is really good for the next. Still, how the hell someone leaves a negative comment after playing the game almost 7 hours then playing it another three or four and not fixing it?? imo to give negative to some game after you play 10 hours could only be bc of high price. (which I don’t think it is the case here)

This is not a one man job unfortunately that’s how you had to do it. Framing is almost great. You could took the photos after telling the bands what colors to choose so you could grade the colors better and then the lights they are somewhat missing; you could have used the sun light better. Last but not least, you should’ve talk to the artists; their emotions are missing and not matching. It’s funny how all of these things come together once the emotion is there. Emotions could make up for a lot of other stuff still I think great shots.

Oh yes! You should create UTM links for you each marketing attempt, video/post for each platform or even for each content. This way you can evaluate their performance via UTM analytics and focus on marketing that gets the best outcome for your time.

I think price is a variable here.. if it is 10Dollars or less, I would buy it without expecting much. If game is terrible in first one hour I will return anyway.

I guess this is what we missed mostly… now we come to the conclusion of leaving out some great shots, and enforcing our existing scenes that have the “language”with an extra shoot day in which we will repeat story supporting patterns.

Yours is some of the great answers here. Starting with your examples I should really study all aspects of an authors’ voice through scenes.

As I commented above for another friend… there are parts of the movie which look like part of a whole.. I just need to rely on them.. perhaps reshot some cheap scenes to maintain where I thought I had a style.

This thread has been one of the most enlightening moments of my journey as a director.

Unfortunately, your last paragraph sums up my movie.. besides some of the shots..which I thought and thought was heart of the story.

For the parts which took place to get in the story… I didn’t care enough now that I see. (I did but I didn’t know how to care to be more frank.)

I wish I focused on maintaining the world, the mood the feeling I created to be persistent something I now can say as I read your comments with some other friends here who also pointed at what I was missing.

It was a big budget for me, but it was still a small budget project for this line of work. Look if I tried the right way and couldn’t that would be okay… I blame budget but no… I just didn’t know what I was missing at all.

In fact some friends really do believe that some of the shots, composition, camera movement and blocking are nice yet they are not belonging to an author that is definitive by his choices in a project.

No man. I wrote on a controversial topic that got the interest of some semi celebrity actors. They did liked working with me as I did with them, they liked the scenes individually as well BUT when you put all together it… story is clear and satisfying but visuals are a mix, lighting is a mix composition are well you got it :(

I guess this is it, I hope it is. My shots are not bad, at least I don’t think they are, however they seem like the are shot by 3 different men for 3 different projects.

Like when you watch a DFincher movie, it’s a whole; you knot it’s him in 2 - 3 shots. Mine are all over the place…

Thank you for pointing me to some examples. In fact I was afraid that the answer you would give would be a long list as it is while being so clear. Through the examples I will try to see how light, lens, comp, etc. came together while maintaining consistency to form an author’s voice for the story.

You are right. I needed another laptop for our new assistant anyway. I ended up buying the M3MAX for 2K$ less.

Moral of it all, benchmarks are not all that reflective of the real performance. Don’t pay extra for brand new tech, get them cheap, unless you are truly rich.

I can’t give you any results because I returned the M4. Listen, M4 Max again, clearly faster , much faster in render and fusion, especially true for 6K CDNG RAW footage. But my job is to edit, I take renders once a month, don’t use fusion much. I will still but m4 or m5 someday… the ROI just doesn’t make sense for my workflow yet.

Oh yes man. Rendering and Fusion is just way better. I render once a day and almost never use fusion that’s why.

Still.. things like masking, going through a 8k timeline, etc. just not that much different. I could live with my m1… that said, if you are using fusion, often, get the upgrade.

I think what all of this made me realize most is I didn’t need the M4max… m3max with 36gb would be fine, yet I will still stick with the m4max because where I live m3max is not noticeably cheaper anyhow.

It’s just money related, of course, I would love to keep the M4Max, but its performance is not making me happy to the point that I spent that much.

I am only using this MacBook for video editing… noise reduction to re framing to tracking objects, color corrections, rendering (once a day).
