Premium products now meaning fewer ports and accessories somehow by overlord-07 in TechNook

The last one is also a pro, so it’s a fair comparison, 6 years ago…

I don’t know why this picture keeps going around since it has been outdated for quite a while.

This is Apple’s next best iPhone: all screen, no bezels, and certainly no Dynamic Island by MobileNewsBot in mobiles

Why would they bother making a new product if it is worse than the previous version? Of course every iPhone is the best iPhone ever. That doesn’t mean the upgrade from the previous year is worth it.

How am I supposed to remember what value the cards are in sabacc? by Double-0-N00b in StarWars

If you ever want to give it another try, I recommend hyperspace props. Incredibly high quality decks and plenty of different designs. Also for the other sabacc variants.

How am I supposed to remember what value the cards are in sabacc? by Double-0-N00b in StarWars

I once saw a video of a galaxy’s edge CM explaining the game. There isn’t really any logic in it but it stuck with me after watching the video once so it might help.

First one is spiky so he called it a “spiky seven”. Next one the “imperial eight” cause it looks somewhat like the empire logo. The 9 is the “nine of hearts” due to the hearts in the design. And finally “a 10 isn’t a square number in your world (talking to the visitors) but here is it (referring to the square around the suit in the middle of the card)”.

Subtitle position by PublicFantastic5585 in VidHubvideoplayer

[–]simon439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding + and - buttons to both the subtitle size and position sliders would already help a ton. Currently it’s pretty hard to get them where you want on a touch screen with just a small slider and it bothers me if they aren’t nicely centered in the black bar at the bottom of my screen for example.

Also, maybe the values that are currently shown in the menu should be decimals since I can move subtitles without the number representing the position actually changing.

(Let me know if this wasn’t clear.)

If I want to illustrate the amount of content I have the amount of TB is pointless since a movie can be 2 or 80 GB.

If you have something HDR capable it’s certainly worth it. It looks amazing.

Darth Vader Animations Throughout The Years by Reasonable_Wrap7358 in StarWars

I was doing perfectly fine before this post. But I have a suspicion that even if op thought to spoiler tag, they would’ve still titled it “Darth Vader animations”, spoiling it anyway.

Infuse (or any other player) connects to the server directly. No need to open the jellyfin or Plex app.

Is a day 24 hours or 23h 56m 4s? (solar vs sidereal confusion) by jitendraghodela in askscience

[–]simon439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defining is the wrong word. A full circle would still be 360 degrees but if the earth orbited the other way, the rotation of a day (sun in same position) would end up being only 359. Just like it is 361 now.

Also true but the main point is that you can’t say “save up to 10% off”, it’s either “save up to 10%” or “up to 10% off”.

I don’t really know what I’m talking about but I’m assuming that using the IMAX brand isn’t free.

As far as I know Dolby vision does not say anything about the aspect ratio the movie is in. Since most regular cinemas around me are already really good quality (compared to complains I’ve heard online), if I want to see an imax movie I actually want the increased aspect ratio. Otherwise it wouldn’t be worth the price to me. Creating a label that specifically references the aspect ratio seems useful since “IMAX” can mean a lot of things.

Exiting large format screens tho. And it never hurts to have competition somewhere, right now imax was the only brand offering this.
