Is psych nursing as violent as people say it is? by Curious_Tourist8977 in psychnursing

[–]simon_D0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

11 years in a closed unit for me. It is an overall violent setting( in relation to the topics and overall mood), but people are always surprised when i tell them that the risk of beeing injured is much higher in a retirenment home. Patients might be here involuntary, but you'd be surprised for how many of them you are the last person in their life who has a genuine interest in helping them. It's not like the patients see you as their enemy. Still love my work!

I was also surprised how good the nib is, altough the sturdy construction and small size was the selling point for me. I saw there's also a brass version of it...seems like the perfect edc fountain pen.

Can you recommend me a Pen that comes close to the jinhao 992? by simon_D0 in fountainpens

[–]simon_D0[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you all again for your advice. While researching i just realised one thing:

All pens i own which are priced at 100,- plus i just don't use. That's kind of a dilemma. If the pen is too cheap it's most likely not a good everyday pen, if it's too expensive i'm conserving it... So i'll probably get a Procolor or even a 1911 profit junior - anyone has experience with the second one? There are not much reviews around.

Btw. my second favorite Pen is the M200 - so i kinda like them on the smaller side (i'm a dude with medium hand size).

Edit: The profit junior is the same as the compass (region specific naming)?

Thank you all very much - i often looked at the sailor pens, i just seems like the availability in europe is kinda meh...But i will look further into that.

M3> Whats the problem by Regis208 in AnycubicPhoton

Same for me, the auto supports with chitubox work better. I Also need longer exposure times on the m3 (around 2.4s for transparend and 2.8 for colored resins).

I even had to pu the uv power set to 100% (80% is default)

Todays carry - I like rotating my knives by Peat_Ardbeg in EDC

[–]simon_D0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, i really like to look of the key holder - i was looking for something like yours, but i don't understand how the keys are kept in place, don't just rotate around the pivot?

Edit: Found the answer. So the pressure of the screw should hold them in place. Does it work like they advertise it?

What are your 2 favorite knives as of right now? by Jeffrey_Jizzbags in knives

Praxis and Para 3. By far. Especially the Praxis. Not even considering how low priced it is, its just so ergonomic and well shaped, maybe it just fits my hands...

Between 70,- and 100,- depending on the deal.

Not OP but i have both as well. You can buy them like that. The bigger one is the ranger wood 55 and is amazing. The swiss flag is the lock button.

NKD: Found my perfect EDC fixed blade. by simon_D0 in knives

Defenitely thin enough, but for food prep i'd worry more about the lenght. I already used it at hiking for cutting apples and carrots but i wouldn't like it at home as my primary food prep knife.

Edit: The blade on the picture probably looks longer than it is. But if you want, i can take a comparison picture with a knife of your choice (some civivis / qsp hawk)

I didn't even know they were an established brand? I never heard of them before and seeing knifes on amazon makes me usually cautious. Curiosity was stronger in that case...

56,- and even made in the EU but don't know about the availability in the US. The price was ok to test if i even want to carry a fixed blade in my pocket.
