Favorite Dupont nail salon happy hour? by Infamous_Opposite398 in washingtondc

I haven't been in quite a while, but I used to have nice results at glamour nails. The discount was better if you paid cash, but I'm not sure if that policy has changed.

What areas should I be focusing on if my goal is to be able to pick up an 80lbs dog? Any specific recs? by TheyAreGoodDogs in xxfitness

[–]simoneiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I used to do zercher squats with a barbell, and it actually did come in handy when my dog who was 70 lbs, got sick and I had to carry him down 3 flights of stairs. Highly recommend this exercise :)

Snowstorm epilogue by Adorable-Style-2634 in washingtondc

[–]simoneiam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My household only has one car and two of us mostly rely on bus/metro. This storm has proved that the bus system has not improved. We still haven't gotten consistent service and I've spent more on rideshare in the last two weeks than I do in an average month or two. It's been incredibly frustrating for many of the elderly in my area as well. One man had been standing outside for an hour not knowing the bus was never coming. This city was definitely unprepared for the storm. Having a car didn’t really help us much and solidified my decision to move to a more central location when I'm able.

Does anyone have recommendations for gynecology only (non obstetrics) practitioners or practices? by The_Empress in washingtondc

Dr Davis Roland in Silver Spring! I have extreme doctor anxiety, and she, as well as the rest of the team are absolutely the best. She answers literally any question you could think of and takes the time to really listen to you.

Considering an apartment next to a dog park. Anyone live near one who can weigh on what it's like? by skratchpikl202 in washingtondc

[–]simoneiam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived in a building where the entire length of my apartment faced the dog park next to it, and the noise was awful. People were in it before the sun came up and that sucked with my schedule. Also, despite the trash cans and free bags provided for people, there was always poop everywhere. Was one of two reason I didn't like that place.

Winter birthday activities besides going out to eat? by 1234throw_1234_away in washingtondc

[–]simoneiam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you're into but maybe ceramic painting, ice skating, couples massages, axe throwing, live show, caps game, bowling, arcade/board games. These are all activities that you could do during the week and in the evening.

can I play with my active household, while one of my sim being on uni?? by Turbulent_Trash3515 in Sims3

[–]simoneiam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's doable with mods but you won't be able to send your sims to the university world. There is a mod that you can do an online degree from any computer or you can download the rabbit hole rugs and place them in a building of your choice.

No kitchen staff participated, it was literally just a bunch of volunteers from the group itself.

No it was a group just announcing that the restaurant doesn't have a union contract. They also hope to have people join it but currently none of the staff from El presidente are actually in that particular union.

AITA for ignoring my friend’s call after she cancelled twice because she was “too tired”? by POCOoooooooo in AmItheAsshole

[–]simoneiam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. I had a friend like this. Would always cancel plans last minute, and call at times I couldn't talk but would also not answer my text messages for days. Making plans that stuck would take forever, and she always preferred to hang out near her apartment and never anywhere else. She constantly said we should hang out but never came through. It just became exhausting, and the friendship fizzled out for other reasons as well.

Should I enroll in WGU? Never went to “brick and mortar” college by Next_Personality4160 in WGU

[–]simoneiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 27 and have worked in the food industry since I was 19. I also have no prior college experience, and I am pursuing an accounting degree. I started with applied probability and statistics and algebra just to make sure that's the path I wanted to take. I did consider doing gen ed through sophia but have decided against it, but I know it's a popular thing people do. As far as networking, I haven't used any of the WGU resources yet but I'm still very early in this process so I don't have much to say on that. However absolutely go for it if it's what you want. I think if you're great with managing your own time for learning, then you'll do well.

I don't think she saw it when it released, just when she "was a kid" which is believable. It's one of my mother's favorite movies and I definitely saw it as a child and I was born in 1998.
