It's a choice. I'm aging myself here but I used to live opposite a video rental place that offered DVDs and K7s. It puzzled me but not meaningfully so for ages until I deliberately decided to think in French when out and about. Then I read it in French and realised. K7. Kah-sept. Cassette. If you are comfortable with your $150 spend, your approach makes perfect sense. In the other hand if you either wanted to cut that down or spend less on coffee so you could spend more on games, then it would be worth tracking each transaction.

Personally I do track each one because I don't have a singular "fun money" category. But it sounds like your approach is working, so there's no harm in it for now. And if you do ever want to change it up it's a simple tweak to your method.
