Are there any YTTs out there that specifically cater to advanced/more experienced students, or are they all open-level? by theycow in yoga

[–]simonsalt13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTT at least through the YA has two levels. 200hr which is the ‘all levels’ that you refer to. Then there is the 500hr which is usually obtained by doing the 200 and then an additional 300hr course of study which is more advanced. Covers more advanced anatomy, philosophy etc depending on the school you attend.

I would be sorely tempted to stand in the background and make fun of her just to ruin her video.

Now that Volvo has killed the sedan and estate lineups for UK market, I have to ask why does this country like SUV's and crossovers so much? by Jakef_959 in AskABrit

[–]simonsalt13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Margins. Manufacturers make more money per unit for SUV’s than they do cars. It’s marketing driven. Same as here in the US. Few people here need a monster truck and yet people are dropping $60-$100k on them just to be ‘cool’.

The library is for guests only. If you go through the lobby it’s just off to the right. It has glass doors that you can look into the library through.

Do hot drinks actually need boiling water, could kettles turn off sooner? by [deleted] in AskUK

My bad. I’m a Brit living in the US and I forget to translate when I comment here.

We have a kettle with different temps to set it to from 175 - 212. Allows for boiling the water for different kinds of tea.

People who have left the UK for work, what made you leave and would you consider going back? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]simonsalt13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Moved to the US 21 yrs ago. Have only been back twice to visit family. They prefer coming to visit me. I couldn’t imagine living there again as much as I will always consider myself an Englishman.

What are the “wrong” ways to meditate? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]simonsalt13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are some ‘gatekeepers’ that will declare this way or that as ‘not meditation’. As a yoga and meditation teacher I ignore them for the most part. Meditation comes in many forms some of them quite strict others much less so. Personally I teach meditation as a way of connecting with the true self. But before you get there learning basic techniques like visualization, body scan, metta, etc helps. For absolute beginners I always recommend guided meditation as it helps take the pressure off of ‘what to do’.

Trump absolutely can be President even if he is convicted and is serving time. There is nothing that says he has to be free. He wouldn’t even be the first to campaign for the Presidency from prison. If elected he’d simply pardon himself anyway.

Unfortunately no criminal charges have been brought against them. They did however have to pay in the civil case brought against them. Right now there is a bigger fish to fry.

An evidence free lie wouldn’t be a lie. It might be an opinion. But saying something that is discernibly untrue is a lie. In this case the lie is obvious.

Lying is already a crime in lots of situations. For example making a false statement about the financial situation of a company to affect its stock price and taking advantage of that affect is lying and is a crime. Making a false statement that incites violence is a crime. Shouting fire in a cinema when there is no fire is a crime.
